Anyway, game creating is gonna be a lot harder than you'd expect. I know it was for me. You'll spend a lot of time and effort to make something. Either it'll be harder to make than you expected or it's not as good/fun as you'd expect (and people will be a bit mean about it). Sometimes both. It's happened to most of us, it'll happen to you, so don't be too sad or frustrated by it. Just make games for the fun of making games and you'll be fine

Anyway, plenty of engines on the download page Corey, just pick which one you'd like. Or... the recent Twenty Event Contest has a lot of open source games. Those range from very simple to medium-complicated, so they're good to start off with. Mostly open source, so you should be able to learn something from taking them apart. Link's here:
