Wow, things are expensive over in Europe. Do recessions make things cheaper or more expensive (referring to the U.S.)? Here most games are $30-40 (£20-26).

You also got Fire Emblem DS first, way first. We got Animal Crossing Wii first, though.

We got Locoroco 2, Super Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit first It's not a competition though, we get it all in the end one way or another. Also I found that the prices aren't that much different at all? It depends where you look in both countries. Places like Toys R Us sell games at top prices still, but smaller places or specific gaming stores in US, and UK/Europe tend to know how much games are really worth and price them reasonably.

EDIT: Appart from GAME in the UK, they're such con artists nowadays.

GOTM - MAY 2009 - 3RD PLACE!
11th January, 2009 at 21:28:35 -

Yeah Nintendo is going a bit downhill. I honestly don't care for the motion controls in any game I've played other than wii sports. I would rather push a button to make mario spin in galaxy and pointing and clicking at floating stars just isn't fun. Other than that it's a great game. I found some of the controls in metroid 3 hit or miss, especially having to twist and pull to open doors. Pushing a button works 100%, making motions with the controller does not. But I'm not much into fps's anyway. I personally found mario kart for wii extremely underwhelming, too many characters on the track at once smacking you with stuff. Mario Kart 64 had a much better balance and is still my favorite mario kart. Wii has 2 games that I am really looking forward too though, Mad World and Klonoa. But in the end I don't think motion controls will add anything to either of those games and I'd trade that to get them in HD any day. But I suppose not having to blow people away with the graphics is the reason original games like that can exist, and the wii provides that. But if that's the case, they may as well have kept making gamecubes.

The best game for Xbox 360 is Pacman CE.

Oh Psh, that's preposterous. That's like saying the PS2 was Sony's version of the N64. Saying that taking out a key feature of a console makes it not unique is rather obvious, and very weak reasoning. O_o Take out the 360's better graphics and you have an original Xbox. It gets stated overmuch, but graphics aren't everything. You say that you want something different-- not the same as last gen... so why is it that you like the 360 so much? All it did was add better graphics and some more online support. The graphics capabilities of the Wii really aren't all that bad. Sure, they aren't 360 or PS3 quality, but PLENTY enough to make an immersive experience.

The wii remote is actually surprisingly accurate, I've done some work with it in GlovePIE. It's just that not all developers make good titles. Pretty soon there will be gyroscope support in Wiimotes, which will make it even better.

It's really a matter of finding good titles for all of the systems. It just so happens that the Wii's good titles often get overshadowed by shovelware because of its success.

EDIT: Grammar mistake.

To me (and i stress this is just my personal opinion), the 360 is something different to my last console - a PS2. The 360 allows me to play online in a way that wee'd all over Sony's poor networking efforts over the last generation. As for PS2 being their version of the N64, i don't think that's true - both consoles were very different, especially as Nintendo games hardly ever cross-platforms. I stand by my generalisation of the Wii being very similar to a PS2, especially when multiformat games are released and the Wii version is the same as the PS2's, not the PS3's/XBox 360's (see Fifa 09 for example).

I agree that graphics aren't everything and i've said it before on this site more times than i remember. However, with the high-standards the 360 and PS3 have set this generation the Wii's PS2-esque quality really is unappealing to me. Only Nintendo have so far managed to get the best out of that console in terms of graphics and motion controls, and seeing as they release just a handful of games every year it really isn't the console for me.

Heh, I prefer the Wii to any console and I'm not looking forward to any games for it

I love the way people talk about consoles sometimes. Some translations if you will-

My X is covered in dust - you should clean more. Besides it's an electronic device which means it attracts dust, and its wireless and not portable so even one used would still gather dust.
I'm looking forward to just X number of games - awesome! I still play old games that are good. Especially with the depth and replayability in current gen games.

K that's all I can think of and I want to play L4D

None of my systems are covered in dust. Not even the wii. I won't allow it. I get plenty of replayability out of all my older systems but newer games don't usually draw me to play them as long so I'm more selective in what I buy. I say I'm looking forward to mad world and klonoa but there's a good chance when they finally come out I'll get one at most and buy another on clearance or used in 3 years. None of the games I currently own for wii have really made me want to keep coming back, in fact I haven't even beaten mario galaxy, metroid 3, or smash bros. I guess it's just me but I spend more money buying old games than new ones.

Well I don't get the reasoning behind some of that, but I'm entirely ready to forget about it. Though I like the Wii the best, I would just as soon take a 360 controller up and play a bit of it with me friends. If I had any friends with 360's.

Whichever we think is best doesn't really matter to anyone but ourselves, does it? And on a grander scale, do consoles really even matter in the first place? They are just diversions, after all.

It's such a mystery... Naw, JK.

B.O.T. I'm so belated in the gaming age, It's not even funny. But then again, the only thing that really quacks my duck (I mean, as far as looks go...) is The Xbox 720. I know I'm probably off topic right now, but I'm too lazy too go over the posts.

I have Xbox 360 and the Wii. I enjoy the graphics and gore of the 360 and the creative game play of the Wii. On 360 my fav's are Saints Row and Gears of war. On Wii I like Mario Kart, Raving Rabbids, and Tiger Woods.
