Looks awesome.. but still... this is the way the majority of FF character designs look nowadays.. it's a very specific style they've adopted recently (well- ever since Kingdom Hearts), like they're going through a phase. I think they're doing it so they can link up all the characters with ease. Like Zidane could quite easily fit into FF Tactics for the DS now.

Too true. I was really hyped for Crisis Core but it's pretty terrible, the battle system is just broke. Flat out broke. And worse still they're going to use it on other projects Caroline likes Crisis Core, but she's a mega FF fan and even plays their lesser games.
Their best games have been remakes of older ones. FFT on the PSP is pretty savvy, FF3 and 4 on the DS are brilliant. These new ones (barring FFT2) are wubbish
