I'm wondering if anyone wanted to team up for a metroid-vania style game. Maybe epic scaled, maybe not. Actually I have nothing set in stone right now, I'm just coding away on the engine. But while, modesty aside, my coding is very nice, my graphics are not. So I figured if any really good artists that have the opposite problem would like to team up, it could produce a very very nice little game.
Indeed the only things I've really set out is the stuff I've already programmed; a 2d platforming engine, capable of super mario galaxy style 360 degree gravity, full screen rotation, a time reversal game mechanic, a very very sweet whip technology as a main weapon, and doubling as a grappling hook Really I'd like to work with someone who has their own inspirations for a project, I'm better at 'making it happen', then figuring out what to make happen
ahhh all three of you guys have very great art styles, I've always loved yours hayo I guess its more if you're into the whole metroidvania genre, because I really haven't gotten any idea of a plot or heck even a setting for a game. I always charge into these things with tech demos and programming stuffs. I suppose if either of any of yah are particularly good at smaller sprite based graphics, that would be fitting. I don't particularly like working with large sprites, and the rotation effect will only really work if the game is 256 colors with a small frame (452x452 is what I'm using, as it fits the rotation of a 640x640 frame)
so yeah hayo don't worry about being disorganized, I kind of work on a sprint based development anyway; doing nothing for a few weeks and doing a whole ton overnight
narr I wouldn't be able to do anything until after this week anyway, so theres plenty of time to figure out these things. Got midterms and girlfriends and whatnot

eh thats exactly what I had planned, I've been spending most of the week attempting to draw a main character in a strait jacket, and thats why I was asking now I figure outer space has been done, and gothic too, so asylum is like the one that hasnt
I've got metroidvania ideas. Most of them take place in space, though. One of them would utilize whips and whipped grappling hooks, too! The 360 movement thing wouldn't be needed until the end, though, and time reversal wouldn't have made an appearance.
