Clubsoft or flava:

Is it possible for you guys to code a feature that would allow a user to block another user from seeing him/her including forum posts. This would solve soooo many problems that are going on right now. Is this possible?

This has been mentioned before- wouldn't really work, the forums wouldn't really make sense unless everyone stated who they were replying to.

i dont like this idea. not to mention what adam said.

maybe just make it so you can block someone and that means they cant buddy you or send you pms.
it would screw up the forums again as adam said.

on another note. right before i saw this i was just thinking of a suggestion.

can you add a sorting feature to sort games by most recently edited downloads? that way if a game gets an update you can see. just a thought.

What's the point of making an entire new feature when you could just ban the real problem? Its like looking for flints to start a fire when you have a box of matches and a can of petrol right in front of you.

I can't believe how this place can go from peaceful to hell in the space of a day. Dr James and Hayo have already gone.

Well i think its something that needs to be implemented, we cant just ban anyone does not make any sense just because you dislike a personality, putting them on ignore maybe "some" forum topics wont make sense to you but it would take care of the issue

Right, so breaking all the rules, abusing the rating system and annoying the majority of the sites users is classed as a personality now?

we have a ban system in place, with warnings, so if someone deserves a ban warnings will be given out to such person, if you just dont like a person or his/her posts a block function should take care of all your problems.

I dont think the site has gone "to hell" at all within a day. i'm sure james and hayo are readin this right now but thats not the point, i think some peoples emotions are gettin way to worked up, if you dont visit the forums all the time you would not even know anythin was goin on

And where have I abused the rating system or annoyed the majority of the site users? There's about 5 people people on here I don't get on with right now. It just makes me realise arguing with BrandonC was stupid, he's no where near as bad as some of the people that linger here.

", if you dont visit the forums all the time you would not even know anythin was goin on "

With this thread and a couple of others, somehow I think you would.

Well you have. You've been back 24 hours, broken rules repeatedly, Rikus has made a thread suggesting a new ignore feature, and two regular users who people actually like have left for the meanwhile. But that's okay, apparently.

But Adam, you really are annoying. I thought you were doing it on purpose, I guess not eh?
I actually think this is a fairly good idea to keep the peace. I wont use it personally but at least it would mean Admins don't have to deal with a huge list of silly little complaints every time they visit.

What about a subforum only visible to Phizzy and Adam, and that's the only forum they can post on?

Just a quick post before I head to lectures..
How about a system where people can say whether a post/comment is offensive - and if it receives a certain number of complaints that post is hidden/made invisible (but there can be a link to show the post to complete continuity of the thread). They do this on digg.com and it works pretty well, though it's obviously open to abuse and doesn't really solve the issue of insulting users .etc (though it might make them think twice about doing it again).

How about a feature where I can embed links into a different text when typing things out? Like, instead of pasting in the link and the link becomes clickable, like so:

http://www.create-games.com

I could type the words The Daily Click and clicking on those words sends me to the same link.
<link>"http://www.create-games.com" The Daily Click</link>

Or however it is that the admins do it in news posts. Because no one has told me how they do that. Put it in a link tag on the toolbar.

Not a bad idea either although i prefer Rikus' idea because everyone else wont have to click on loads of buttons or tabs or whatever to read all the posts.

Lol, Flava, I find it easier just to delete the post and all related to it, then if the original poster felt it was important, he'd repost it, but in a nicer way.

I'd actually use the ignore feature. Works nicely on mIRC. Just as long as it doesn't block downloads, PMs by that member.
