I've been trying to kick start a novel and I have a good foothold of where I want it to go, but for sake of making everything fit together and giving me somewhat of a foundation to rest on, I want to get some general information to study from.
The setting starts out in the country side however the story quickly shifts to Alaska.
Once in Alaska, the story starts to get heavily involved with a very Native American style feel to it, involving spirit animals and with modern tribes. What I want to know though is if anyone could help provide me with solid information or links or even names of Native American tribes that use spiritual animal guides, that reside in Alaska. I know they exist, but I'm having a difficult time finding solid information.
The story will defiantly hit fiction accords and pull off the whole "magic" thing, but for the sake of a theme, I really want to do some research on all of this first.
