Sorry for bothering you for something that probably has been brought up at least a million times...
But I can't get it to work.
I have this background music called maintheme2.mp3 (also have an .ogg version).
Should I use direct show to play it 'natively' with mmf2 ?
If so, what exactly should I type, input -as for conditions regarding Direct show and stuff), considering the soundtrack is in c:/lq/ folder ?
Should I use another process, extension...or whatever ?
Driving me nuts, and sorry again for that noob question.
Anyone can help me, would be greatly appreciated.
On music triggering event: play and loop sample on specific channel> select the OGG and it will then be copied into the game itself. So no navigation coding required, no direct show.
I managed to work it out -was pretty stupid of me to look away from something as simple as that but anyway-.
I didn't play it 'on a specific channel'.
How can that be a problem, if so ?
Any sound in MMF2 is played on one of 32 channels. You don't have to pick one, but it might help if you're planning on using a lot of sound effects. In my game I've isolated the 31 and 32 channels for music only, just so another sample will play and cut the music off.
Got it.
Hey seriously I can't thank you enough mate.
My brother's actually making the game. I'm composing the tunes.
If you need any music (I'm more specialized in RPG-epic kind of stuff but you never know), give me a shout, I'll be more than happy to oblige.
