I was playing my PS2 earlier today and I was wondering... "Is it possible to play Klik games on a PS2???" The closest thing I can think of is getting an adapter for the Dualshock, and even though it's not really playing on a PS2, I can't think of any other way. Would anyone know how this would be done?
Can't be done as far as I know. Wont even work on Xbox 360, or Mac, and those are about as close to Windows then you'll get in terms of cross platforming. Yves is just now adding in Java, which is expanding cross platforming to a degree, but we're still limited.
No, right now you can't. But as NeoMonkey said, it's perfectly possible. Never gonna happen though. I've seen adaptors at walmart that let you plug Gamecube, PS2, and XBOX controllers into the computer for $10. Get one of those and configure it as a joystick.

yeah i remember hearing once that they had 400mhz processors (back when they were coming out and there was hype around) but just looked up on wikipedia and appreantly they were 64-bit 299mhz. which is pretty surreal to think about now in this age of 3+ghz multicore machines!
And it's really quite impressive to think about what all can happen on a PS2.. with that little amount of processor speed. It's not like what we have on our current gen consoles, but it's still mighty impressive.
The PS2 would be PLENTY powerful enough. The reason it can support such amounts of 3D-ness is that it doesn't have Windows or some other OS in the way, hogging resources and requiring use of its API. Consoles can run games on much less power than the same game would require on a PC. Plus, remember the fact that my old 366Mhz desktop could play most click games I downloaded.
Processor speed really isn't everything... You've got lots of other things to consider too, like render pipelines.
I guess it might be possible if the runtimes was rewritten especially for the system and to make full use of the gpu and the games were designed to run on the specs of the ps2.
keep in mind how horribly in efficient the current runtime is though.
I used to have a 533mhz pc that couldnt play Furry fullspeed. The real killer was the scrolling. It wasn't an Intel or AMD processor though so those specs don't really compare well with other people with 533mhz machines.
Yea, it would have to be a runtime built for PS2. Heck, you probably wouldn't even need the VPU's.
Think about it. The N64's processor clocked at 93Mhz. (There was a graphics coprocessor, I think... but still) Most Click games have graphics on the level of the SNES. Granted the innards behind click games are a lot beefier, but if it was optimized for running them, there is no doubt in my mind that the PS2 could run them. It's a given.
@AndyUK: I wasn't speakaging at anyone particular when I said that thing about processing power not being the only thing to consider.

The only thing I can think of is using a DVD Rom. It's what they used, but they used a different format. Which leaves us clueless on what to do, and how to do it.
Yup. Like that Knytt Stories port to the DS. (No clue if it's real.) You can pretty much forget about running MMF2 applications on consoles as long as the consoles don't run windows or an MMF2-supported form of java. Maybe Clickteam will dabble in consoles a bit more with MMF3. I'm looking forward to it, hopefully the little things in MMF2 that keep me from switching will be resorted by then. And hopefully a chockload of new features that should have been in MMF2 will be in 3.
The only way I could see it happen is if Clickteam would release the source code to the MMF2 runtime. Then some homebrewer might be able to port it to *insert console here*

I never understood that given Knytt Stories (IIRC) uses the same resolution as the PSP that a dev would rather bring it to the DS over that. Nevermunt!
