But this year we decided to make something bigger and after asking some users by PMs and after asking CT staff we decided what follows:
How long? We want to organize (and we will organize) 7 day convention - yes you read it right, convention will be held for whole week. But we (as organizers) agreed with Yves that many of you can have problems with so long convention and this is why first three days would be fully international Click Convention (this traditional one) and next 4 days will be mostly Polish convention. But if anyone outside from Poland would like to stay - no problem! Even it could be 7 days international convention, all depends from you.
When? We suggest one of the last weeks of July 20-27. But this is thing which we have to discuss. We are considering only weeks during holidays. So if you have got other proposals about July or September post it and we will decide about final date of Convention in first days of May.
Costs?
Because we are mostly students, we decided again to held Convention in Hostel (which lowers the costs and conditions are pretty good):
- Sleeping: 140 zloty for whole week (6 nights) is like follows 40 zloty for first night each next one 20 zloty. So like for now sleeping for whole week would cost 34 EUR, 44 USD, 30 GBP.
- Food: We think that about 10 zloty for each day would be enough. So for whole week it would be half of sleeping costs.
- Travel: It depends from you. This Hostel is placed near Railway Station and Airport so each way would be good.
- Other costs: About 5 + 25 zloty. 5 zloty (about 1,22 EUR, 1,60 USD, 1,07 GBP) as a entrance fee for everyone. It's not huge ammount of money but it would help us to cover costs of prizes for competitions etc. And thanks to it everyone who will pay it can enter each competition and won some souvenir. And that 25 zloty (about 6,10 EUR, 8 USD, 5,35 GBP) is initial price for t-shirt if anyone would like one.
So what's the difference?
We Poles are known from our creativity and hospitality. Like for now our programme schedule covers:
- Interesting presentations of upcoming Polish games
- Presenting true capabilities of old Klik Open GL
- Results of voting for best Polish Click games
- Each day (from 2nd to 6th) will be held one competition in different click games like Duel Toys 2, Sommium Strike 2, Siege or War of Fantasy and two Polish titles with souvenirs as a prizes
- One day trip (3rd day) to visit Warsaw and it's famous places and buildings
Also there would be some night competitions for game makers (last time we have got one to create a platformer). So it would be interesting events.
We are open for any propositions for your presentations of games, extensions, community projects. Anything like that.
We want to decide about term of event until end of April and depending of Convention date we will wait for official confirmation of coming until end of May/June. Because we have to get known about how many people will come to make reservation at hostel. And if anyone like he could stay in hotel or anything like that but costs will be much higher and he will end the 'night life' of this convention.
So if you have got any propositions, suggestions, questions post them here or via Private Message and we will surely respond for them.
Bugger, I'll be at our place there throughout the whole of July but it's nearer to Krakow than Warsaw... Way down in Gorlice. Still might try. Though my Polish isn't what it used to be.
Sounds good, but i wont be able to make it, airplane tickets are expensive, cant take much time of from work, and with the family all traveling to europe is just to much of an undertaking. Now if anyone can finally setup a convention in the US or Canada that would be a different story, for the love of everything why should the folks in europe get all the fun!

We had in Cracow in 2008 But if you prefer any other date write it down James. And Convention will be in English (at last first three days ;P) But Polish will be present also.
The dates fine, it'll just be getting there.
That said I find travelling long distances in Poland really easy. I'll definitely try! Now to talk to my dziadek and get learning again
Shame about last year too. What date was that? I think I was in Gorlice around July 10-20th or something.
Chrilley you have got few months to get cash so you can check +- what are costs of travel (because more or less costs of staying are published) and put aside some money for it.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
I might have the cash by then, but there still is the problem of me going to Poland alone... ( Im still a minor in the US)
My parents wouldn't be excited...

So here you are 'official' oldschool site about convention with some information etc, we hope to set a higher limit for people but for now it's only 40
So what's the problem? Ou if you like I could ask people about country in which they are currently living so you could contact them and come together for convention.

Would cost too much money to come and visit, even though I would love to. Maybe next year, but this year I'll have to pass =(. Shame cause I fancy going to Poland oddly. We have this awesome Polish shop just down the road. <3.

I'm 17 with no money. It would be kind of odd even if I did have the money. "Hey mum, going to Poland for a week to meet with people you've never even heard about! Seeya!"
Jeff have got plenty of work with CT so he probably wouldn't have time to organize Convention and trust me it need a bit of free time.
OMC, you can always show videos from previous conventions or anything like that, explain what is your passion why you want to come and visit us to participate in this event and ask for help - money help

Haha, not likely. My parents are just as broke as I am and traveling to another country alone is kind of a big deal for me. O_o Best of luck without me!
I would love to go. It's just that us students have bigger priorities when it comes down to money ( for instance, paying the bills, because it's so damn expensive)

Man, I know I got this invitation and all, but... I won't likely go, either. Don't get me wrong - I would like to come! But there's things like funds, and the fact that you'd be going to a not-so-closeby country for an entire week...
I informed people who were asking at some day about convention and who I remembered... It would be great to see you all guys but I know that there are plenty of problems like going to other country and funds. But don't worry all video coverage should be available very soon after convention
I would like to inform you that only 23 days left for submissions for this year Click Convention 2009. So if you like to attend go as fast as possible to the Convention page http://fg.netray.pl/CC09/ read how to apply and just do it!
Unfortunatelly it's up to date. Only Francois and Rando confirmed coming and paid small entrance fee also Popcorn confirmed but he didn't pay entrance fee, so he is still in Interested roll...
Probably most of people will be writing applications at the end of May... Maybe some information at front page would give more users - or crisis is so strong that this year convention would be very small
OK so because of so small number of applications I decided to change a bit application structure. Now you only have to sent me an email that you agree to participate, give your nick, mobile phone number and pay an entrance fee - and if you don't have money for it you can ask Random for help.
Ou and remember only 2 weeks left until application deadline!
Ok people, one week left until deadline so I wrote some reminders to those who responded in this thread that they are interested. So I hope that you will come so we could have about 20 people.
First of all we still organize this convention so don't worry about it and come to visit us
Secondly we extended a deadline for applications until 15th of June, so if you still didn't confirm your place you should do it as soon as possible! And because of different (mostly financial) issues with arriving to convention of many clickers I decided to make some experiment. More information in participants roll at convention page.
And two new people agreed to make a presentations at CC09 - Don Sotto and Draq.
Hey, don't forget about Click Convention 2009! Maybe it's week after it but we are still working to get you fresh with the Convention! Transcoding is going pretty well, and what is more soon official report should be released! But like for now it's small trailer of the Party!
Fano - thanks for uploading that short clip. I remember going to a couple of the conventions in the UK and they were good fun. Looking forward to the rest!
They will be released as soon as it will be possible. In couple of days or couple of weeks everything depends from my friends, national mail, and my Internet and Electricity Providers
There were 4 places from which I get questions for Francois - Polish Click Community, Clickteam Forum users, The Daily Click users and Chat attenders. Each of them will receive special exclusive part of interview video.
Klikamera will receive questions from PCC, Klikdisc from CTF, Klikcast from TDC and Chat Attenders where given questions and answers in realtime - there is no video footage for this part.
What is more we just ended transcoding whole footage and it is about 40 GBs of data. I will receive all videos in week or so and change their codecs so they will be smaller and cut them in proper parts. Because the HD camera in which we where covering event made it in 40 minutes parts and... it isn't good. So please be patient.
It is always availability that after releasing next Klikdisc and Klikcast that I will place that Interviews on my Video Channel... but Kisguri and Rikus have to agree on this part.
I just created the Click Convention Section for this months Episode of klikcast! (Still took a frickin 3 hours of editing last night, but that was worth it in the end)
It will include the TDC question and Answers section with some pics and convention footage. I would love to have some footage of people presenting their games but I understand that is for others to show. It has all just been put together and edited (cutting out the silent parts and other stuff to keep up the speed and keep things going) The Section will run about 7 min in its entire. And it is pretty darn cool

About Convention footage unfortunately I even don't have it, like I said after conversion to AVIs it have got about 40 GBs... And I wait for the materials I should receive it in few days and then I will codec them and cut in proper pieces and place on You Tube.
Because everyone liked articles in written in this way I will place all videos (which I received some time ago) in highest quality as HD (so like there were recorded) and in director edition! And everything on free YouTube!
It means that it won't be only presentations video but also some between footage videos So it would be almost like you've been with us or watching online!
For download I plan to release normal 640x480 only presentation version in future but firstly I want to cut everything and place it on you tube what can take a while, unfortunately.
Ok, so after some time here you are all Click Convention 2009 videos in one place and in High Definition. They are now added to the Conventions group and soon the download should be available. What is more in coming months we will release also Interview videos in High Definition! So let's rock!
Like I promised after some time of official release of Klikcast 15 and October Issue of Klikdisc I would publish all videos from this year Click Convention!
So here you are, first part of videos with questions from Polish Click Community is out there, and Klikcast will be available in 2 weeks! You can watch them on YouTube or Download:
