Hello all, haven't been on the site in a while but I'm getting a new WinMo phone and this question has brought me back here again: Is it possible to make a game with MMF2 then port it to windows mobile since MMF2 now supports java apps? Most WinMo phones use IE or Opera, and I was wondering if this has been tested at all yet. I'm not looking to make anything extremely complicated, probably just a simple RPG or something of the sort.
Also... I've been told that if you have the .html file for a website, there's a way to make it into a standalone application that would act as if it were browsing the site. If so.... does anyone think this would work with Java apps?
If anyone can give me some answers on this that would be amazing. Better yet if someone can test this out, that would be even better. Thanks all! Hope to hear back!

Hey, welcome back man! I read some of your comments on articles yesterday, and here you are today! Weird...
Hence the question, can you port it into Windows mobile? Well I believe it would require Java or something, but I don't believe so.

There were some pictures of Romeo and Juliet (click classic) playing on a mobile phone awhile back, but I'm not too sure. There are different classes of java, and I'm not sure MMF2 is equipped to deal with the mobile variants yet. My inclination is to say not yet. Hopefully soon though.
You can have MMF2 create an html file with the jar so that you can test it standalone. Or better yet, just compile the java app as a standalone from the start in the application type dialog.

There was also this released as a test of the Java mobile runtime: http://theclickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=118935#Post118935
However, the java mobile hasn't been released for use, just as an example of how far it is.

Only MMF2 Developer does the standalone version. MMF2 Standard only does applets.

Hmm... pretty interesting so far. When I get my phone I'll have to make a little test program to try it out. And now I'm curious about when Clickteam might possibly be releasing the java mobile runtime...

yes, check the clickteam forums. They are working on getting java compatible with most devices including mobile phones. It will take some time to get it up and running properly, but it will happen eventually!

That would make Knytt Stories available on mobile phones too then! Sounds awesome!
