skip this
I'm working on a game that has all the sounds and music external. I'm doing this for 3 reasons:
1. it makes my backups super tiny (i only back up the sounds once)
2. it makes loading the project a lot faster
3. i feel like a cooler person doing it

my question
Originally i was saving music as .ogg and my sounds as .wav . Is there any reason not to make every single sound effect a .ogg file instead of a .wav?

i think its just more of a quality thing? go with whichever one is smaller or loads faster IMO.

they both load the same speed on my computer, and the reduction in quality is unnoticeable while the reduction of file size is.

I was just wondering why people like POD use wav for their external sounds.

Wav might be better for sound effects since its not compressed, therefore it should load quicker.
I'd rather use a mix. OGG for music, ambient sounds and stuff that loops (since they're usually longer), and WAV for everything else.
