Anyone watch this show? I have been watching it for the past 4 seasons. Well, 3. something seasons to be more accurate. If you guys don't watch it, I can assure you, you guys are missing out. It's the only show I regularly watch. Being a writer, I think it has one of the best storylines ever. Check it out if you guys haven't already. Very very epic.
The best definitely. I have seen Heroes, Lost, Prison Break, X-Files, Bones, etc etc. They all started out strong but their consequent seasons all began to lose their former glory eventually. Supernatural, is the one show that has managed to retain it. I'd go so far as to say, it has improved a whole lot. Give it a second try Cecil, you might like it.
Oh and anything is better than Heroes right now. The first series was brilliant but it's been such a downhill fall from series 2 onwards and especially the current one. It's all following X-Men way too close now.
Lost, South Park, QI, Spooks, Red Dwarf, Peep Show, Father Ted, IT Crowd, Spaced (anything with Simon Pegg ), Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, I'm Alan Partridge
Yesterday's episode was probably the best of the entire series. It's about, as the name implies, supernatural All kinds of weird creatures that go bumping in the night and all that. But its very well done, its nothing like buffy or angel. It's probably a little more like X-files but with the endings of the episodes making sense. To enjoy it fully though, I recommend watching it from the start.
lost is better, house is better, csi is better, its always sunny in philadelphia is better, scrubs is better, the office is better, flight of the chonchords is better, almost anything on adult swim is better.

Well, your tastes are much different than mine then. Havent heard of a few shows in that list but I definitely dont think they're better than Supernatural. House, just seems absurd to me. It tries to be as realistic as possible right? How many times does a doctor come upon so many different and unique medical cases? Uhh, once or twice in his career maybe not every frickin day. Anyway, it's a good show but just that bit bothers me about it. And I'm telling you I've seen almost all of these shows and Supernatural is way better.

Lol, no, it's not supposed to be realistic. It was a good show at first but I stopped watching it. A lot of shows seem to go downhill these days...
I haven't seen supernatural, it's always sunny in philadelphia, scrubs, flight of the concords, or much of adult swim... But I don't like CSI and Lost is just.... lost. I've only seen bits of the Office. Numb3rs, Chuck, and Stargate Atlantis were all good shows that I loved to watch, and they've all gone waaaay downhill in one way or another.
I don't watch much TV anyway though, especially since I only get 3 channels.

um its actually supposed to be one of the most accurate medical shows on tv. and theres a reason he gets so many different and unique medical cases. for one its not like he gets a new case every day. he only has what? theres like 24 episodes in a tv season these days? so 24 cases in a year? and all those cases are unique because they are all the cases no one else can figure out. they are rare for THOSE doctors but they are common for him cause hes supposed to be a fuckin badass smart doctor that figures out what no one else can. im actually astounded your complaint wasnt how much the show repeats itself. which is why i watch it for house not his cases.
edit: he also has like super freedom so he just picks out cases HE wants.
as for lost. its actually never been bad. it got really slow in the middle but the new stuff is better than the first stuff. and its almost over. 1-1/2 seasons left? its not a show that a network drags on forever. they had a story to tell from the beginning to end and had an end date so the network couldnt tell them to ruin the show by making pointless episodes after the story had "ended".
CSI has been the number one show on network television for almost all 9 seasons with a couple seasons being number 2 or something. if thats not your taste thats not your taste but its definitely a better show.
its always sunny, flight of the conchords, scrubs seasons 1-6 (not 7 or 8 they suck) were all brilliant.
not to say supernatural isnt good but it is not the best. i dont claim anything to be the best, which is why i will never answer a "what is your favorite __" question with a definite answer. anything stated as "the best" is pure fanboyism to me.
In the end it's all fanboyism. "Ratings" really have nothing to do with how good a show is--it's all personal opinion.
Star Trek TOS was seen as cheesy even when it was airing and was canceled from bad ratings, but it's been adopted by uber nerds and non-nerds alike as a classic.
Well, I do admit I'm a fan of the show. I'm straight btw so it has nothing to do with the two main leads. What I'm saying is that I have seen all those shows that you mentioned but I've never been very consistent in watching them. With supernatural, I havent yet missed a single episode. Which is why I say that it's the best show on TV at the moment. Yes, I said best
House, I dont watch often enough so I cant tell if stuff is being repeated. I agree that scrubs season 7 & 8 suck. But you cant really compare scrubs with supernatural because of how different their genres are. House is different as well as well as CSI. As for the stuff about CSI being no. 1, I donno man. I havent seen it enough to judge it well but I can tell you this: people watch crap like the bachelor, desperate housewives, etc etc. They love reality TV so you cant really say what show was good based on its audience.
Like you guys agreed, its personal opinion obviously. I just happen to think Supernatural takes the cake possibly after Friends.
proving a major philosophical theory as wrong is complete win in my book.

csi has been the no.1 viewed almost all of its season (nothing to do with it being good i know), and yes people watch that other crap but not even close to as much as superior drama tv.
Ah! Finally someone who appreciates Always Sunny in Philadelphia!
I don't watch T.V., It's just endless commercials occasionally interrupted by shows. I find myself randomly downloading an entire series of some show I heard was good and watching all the episodes back-to-back, commercial free. Right now I'm on The Amazing Race.
thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.

It's easy to be number one when at least 3 different networks air HOURS AND HOURS of it everyday. It's ridiculous. I never liked Seinfeld until I was assaulted with about 4 hours of it a day (When it's damned cold outside and you don't have cable, you watch what you can get).
I watch Bones and 24 on Hulu. Now that BSG and Knight Rider are over, I don't watch as much TV.
