Well id, Epic and Crytek make some good shooters too. But I'm not keen on this whole war thing that a lot of FPS games like to do. And especially WW2 stuff, they're an extra bleh!
Call of duty 4 is absolutely fantastic James. There is no doubt about it. You would be a fool to dismiss it, especially on the basis of not being created by one of the more famous FPS developers.
Call of Duty is great, James is just stuck in the rather accurate frame of mind that says only a few developers have managed to take FPS and make them any good. Everyone else is just remaking the wheel for no reason but to slap their own enemies in it and call it their own.
Valve takes a pretty shiny metal for breaking the mold pretty much every time they release a new FPS. That's no excuse to dismiss other good FPS though.

No Brandon, as I said I don't like games that take place in these big wars. I like the typical method of 1 "superhero" type character going against a big bad guy in single player games, like in Mario and Zelda games too.
It'll have a distinctly average multiplayer scene which will need to be modded so it fixxes several issues and therefore I shall probably not buy it :/ Actually the CoD4 (competetive) community is mostly made up of a fair amount of unlikable people and a fair amount more of 14-16 year olds.
