Some of you oldies might remember Darksun Games, by Anthony Lopes. He was the creator of Triumph War 2099. Many people including myself looked up to him and his games, however he dropped out of existance according to his site (last post 2005), yet his website still remains up.
I have wondered for many years where he went and what he is doing now. Does anyone have any ideas? It seems strange that his site is still up after such a long time: www.darksungames.com
At one stage he was even thinking about giving away the source to his sequel to Triumph War 2099. You used to be able to get the source code for the main engine on his site in the abandonware section.
Darksun Games will always be one of my favorite clickers.
I recently contacted Anthony (about 8 months ago...) and he said that his klik days are pretty much over, and as we noticed he doesn't update his website anymore (very sad)
I got the source for TRIUMPH, I mainly used its gfx to make a fan sequel. His downloads are still available though.
I found it kinda nice to see his name when I got in the forums page, because I was thinking about him at the same moment lol.
I was thinking about it after watching Terminator 3 last night (I'm looking forward to the new one out today! - Although I won't get to see it for a week or more due to exams.)
I'm pretty sure I'd have the source to all of those abandonware games but I'd have to digg them up from other computers. If someone really wants something in particular, ask me.
[EclektiK] - That's interesting that you had contact with him! Was the source to TRIUMPH that you were talking about source code to the full game or to the same engine that is on his site/that steve posted? If you're still able to contact him, do you think you could stretch out and ask him nicely for the source code to "Karr's Castle WAR" or some of his other games? He was always pretty open to giving out stuff like that, as seen by his abandonware section. If he doesn't use Click anymore he might be willing to give them out. If he needs reassurance refer him to this thread and we'll show him how much we love him
