I really, really, really hope that Futurama won't go the same way that Simpsons did.

Futurama's great, the TV episodes anyway. The DTV movies, they sucked quite a bit unfortunately. Hopefully the new episodes will be more like the old episodes, and not go on and on past its prime like The Simpsons and not be total rubbish after being brought back from the dead like Family Guy was.

But yea it's good to hear they want to do self contained episodes. I liked the 'films', but they were much too long compared to individual 22 minute episodes.
I think the story is Fox cancelled it, someone said "oi make us some specials or something" which gave birth to the 4 films, and since they did well Comedy Central went and commissioned a new series. I think.
