It's most assuredly Imageshack. My avatar does the same thing when my host is suffering.

Yea, you're right OMC .. checked imageshack and for some reason the image is not there at all.
It's like someone hacked into my account knowing exactly what they wanted to delete (my avatar), then edited the image so it was nothing more than a clear white space.
Guess the only thing to do seems to be to re-upload it to imageshack. I'm just glad that I have a backup.

Yes. IMageshack hosting tends to blink on and off occasionally but the images always return. I presume it's a server thing.
It'll all blow over.
