Watched Shawn of the Dead at weekend(Again)

and was thinking about Zombie movies,

like has anyone seen "Space Zombie Bingo"

and whats your Favorite Zombie Flick.. for a long while my favorite was BreainDead, then I kinda prefered Dawn of the Dead(70's Version, not fast zombies)

and that was right up until shawn of the dead, and dont even mention the terrible House of the dead movie conversion.. eek!

Shaun of the Dead! Tis brilliant.
I've not actually seen many though. I probably watched loads when I was a kid but I don't go for horror films now.

Zombie movies and games are appealing, but only to the acquired taste. They're cool every once and a while, but the uniqueness and innovation on Zombie movies and games all seem to be as stale as the innovation we've seen on FPS games. You just can't get much more than what we've got.

However, leave it to Valve to innovate both FPS with Portal and Zombie games with Left 4 Dead.

Not particularly interested. I only played a little of the first level of L4D, just seemed like mindless slaughter. For some reason I was led to believe it would be tense, and based on conserving ammo and supplies and such. I wont be picking it up again, unless someone can persuade me otherwise like what am I missing that makes it so great?

I loved Shaun of the Dead, and Planet Terror was awesome. I haven't been really interested in other zombie movies, though, but then I'm not a big fan of horror-type movies to begin with - if they fail to immerse me, the whole movie will be extremely dull, since most of it is tension building and 'creepy' stuff happening. Never really understood scenes that make you jump, either

Zombies are awesome, though, they definitely appeal to me. Or at least, killing them and surviving against them appeals to me No guilt in killing those that are already dead!

Are you playing L4D with friends? That really makes the game, and I say that because a friend of mine didn't like it either, but he was playing a cracked copy with bots only. But yea. It's not much a tense game especially on anything less than expert mode. It's just a co-op comedy shooter (going off the silly dialogue).

Evil Dead 1 & 2! I liked Shaun of the Dead, and I also liked Dawn of The Dead both the new one and I saw most of the older one too. I don't own L4D or play it regularly, but I did spend a whole night playing it with mates, that's good fun.

But even then, I'm not a huge zombie fan anyway.

Shaun of the Dead <3. Totally and utterly love that film but mind you I am a Simon Pegg fanboy.

28 Days Later is such a good film, the way it is directed is amazing. Brilliant acting aswell.
28 Weeks Later...mmm well I was like it's ok in the cinema but the whole America coming to save the day and then totally failing was just such a naff storyline and it had too much pointless gore.

Resident Evil film, GAH no. I am a huge Resident Evil/Biohazard fanboy and those films were just so so so naff. The original/draft script written by George A. Romero was far better.

George A. Romero's films I love to bits, cheesy old classics. Bub the zombie in Day of the Dead is just so sweet and cute it makes you wanna keep him as a pet.

As you can guess I love zombie films.

I think I've seen practically all the films mentioned so far... Not sure if that's a good thing or not

Has anyone else seen [Rec]? It's a Spanish film in the single camera, POV shot ala Blair Witch or Cloverfield. It's one of the scariest, most tense zombie films I've ever seen. I'd even go so far as to say it was my favourite, although Planet Terror would come a very close second. [Rec] was recently made into an apparently crap American version called Quarantine.

I love zombie movies and games!

I agree with a lot of Cecil's list:

28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later (Much better than 28 Days Later imo. Most movies concentrate on an immediate zombie outbreak, this one shows what happens afterwards.)
Dawn of The Dead (New one is good, I haven't seen the old.)
Land of The Dead (Game is awesome too.)
Resident Evil Series
Shaun of the Dead

George R.'s "Diary of the Dead" was bad.

I used to be a huge fan of the zombie films and loved all the ones people already mentioned. Except the latter George A. Romero efforts, especially Land and Diary of the Dead - both shockingly boring films, IMO. And i loved Night and Dawn, both classics. I thought Bub was crap though, man that sucked up a pretty good film.

If you're a fan of George, note this video he directed (zombie-based, naturally!):

I still need to complete any Resident Evil game , I have the Cube remake but I got lost and the girlfriends been at me to play RE4 or RE5 in co-op (apparently it makes it brilliant in co-op). It's always a series that I love reading and watching than actually playing.

Oh and Dead Rising; brilliant! Can't wait for the sequel.

I love zombie movies, but I'd find it pretty hard to pick a favourite. To be honest they mostly just kind of blend into one another for me.

I guess the lower the budget and worse the acting/special effects, the better

I am Legend was good, but it's actually vampires not zombies.

Favorite: Return of the Lving Dead. A masterpiece. The sequels okay, and 3 is pretty much dirt but still a decent title. The Romero films are great until Land of the Dead, where it kind of gets ridiculous (talking, gun toting zombies? really?) Shaun of the Dead is amazing, one of a kind really... paved the way for zombie/comedies such as Fido (great title) or Zombieland (filmed here in Valdosta, GA - I MISSED OPEN CASTING CALLS!) Re-Animator is a CLASSIC, as is Cemetary Man, which is light on the Zombies and more on the story. Dead-Alive is great as well, written and directed by a young Peter Jackson. The Evil Dead series has long fit into the "zombie" genre just for their light use of reanimated dead, so of course these are some difinitive titles of genre. Other lesser known titles like "Zombie" or "American Zombie" are okay, however they lack production value so of course that somewht makes them better. Oh, and Planet Terror is awesome, too (for being a newer film).

I had a spate of collecting low-budget, mostly Italian, zombie movies for a while, i got quite a few including some shockingly lame ones (Don't bother with "Zombie Chronicles").

The best one for unintentional(?) comedy is called Zombie Flesheaters 2, there is also Zombie Flesheaters, which was created in Italy as an unofficial sequel to Dawn of the Dead. In Italy it was called "Zombie", so Zombie Flesheaters was called "Zombi 2" in a courtcasey cash-in way. It's more like a prequel to Dawn, though.

Zombie Flesheaters 2 is nothing to do with either of them, though. It's also completley insane!

Actually i've only just remembered i've acted in a zombie movie... made by my brother! I ought to see how that is going actually...

The only thing I ever liked about "scary" zombie movies/games was the hilarious "oh it was just a cat... *ZOMBIE LEAPS OUT OF NOWHERE*" I laugh myself silly when that happens.

Shawn of the dead = only zombie flick I ever actually enjoyed.

Resident evil 4 was the most fun I had on any game in the the Ps2, Gamecube, Xbox generation. I'm working on Resident evil 5 at the moment and it looks to be more of the same but sadly africa doesn't seem to be a particularly good setting for a survival horror game.
