...this summer? There's only one month of summer left. You had to have been doing SOMETHING, right? Went somewhere or did something?
WELL I HAF BEN DOOOEEEENG...
Drawing: I've been drawing like mad this summer. I've completed the 4th episode of a comic that I'd laid off for 9 months at least. Was a treat getting back into the comic's feeling and art style. Plus my art skills had improved since then.
Also been practicing Architecture for my backgrounds and buildings. They're really nifty looking put into perspective drawing. Working on Anatomy for animals and stuff, too. You know... Dragons, Tigers, Dogs, Wolves, that stuff. It's misery trying to put it into perspective drawing though.
I really think I've improved over the time I've taken to practice my artsie stuhf. :B I should post some examples soon, I feel like showing off what I've achieved.
Writing: Just yesterday I decided to have another crack at this. I've practiced it for a little while before I started back up, though. I forgot how much fun it is! Wether my skills are or aren't good enough to cut it for a book, it's fun reading your own imagination back to yourself, regardless. Plus if I ever do write a book I can write down my ideas and save them for later, or as my imagination changes I can still fastinate myself with the imagination I had back then, just put into words.
Wow... I can't believe I dropped it. It's fun!
Bowling: Went from an 11 pounder to a 15 pounder since last season. Just got my own ball for a cheap price on Ebay, had it drilled, works great! Looks really pretty too- Black, Purple, and Red. Highest game ever was 154. I got lucky.
Knitting: Call me and old hag or something, but it's actually quite relaxing and tranquil. Unless you're in a yarn/hangout for ladies who knit and chat like no tomorrow, then it's just down-right Insane. Anyhoo, Knitting has become very popular lately here in the U.S, because... well- I don't know why.
It relieves stress they say- and it actually does. And though I don't tend to knit often, I'll pick up my needles and swatch every some whenevers and just knit for a while before I'm off doing something else. Like drawing.
Swimming: Eh, occasionally. I can only swim for two hours before I... a) get sun burned to a crisp. b) wear my arm muscles out. c) just get plain bored.
The only thing I really like about the pool anymore is the deep end. Perfect for all of my 'back-flip-off-the-diving-board-like-an-drunk-idiot' needs.
Music: I just can't live without this stuff. I need it or I go crazy. It's like females to chocolate really, except THIS chocolate lasts longer.
Beverages: Jones, Voltage, Coke, Pepsi, Starbucks, Straight-black Coffee. I'll take any of em.

Guessing that most of you skipped reading the list... bottom line; what have you been doing this summer?
I've not been drawing, bowling, knitting, swimming. But I have been drinking le Coca Cola and listening to musics. So far I've just been setting up my studio .com thingy, working on Lunnye, playing Gears of War 2 in co-op mode, playing L4D and going places with teh girlfriend.
Not very summery things really! But then again theres not been much sun.
Job hunting, gardening (built a pebble pool ), bbqs (although less recently), working on my latest game, doing graphics for people, playing Wii Sports Resort (past 2 days )Going on holiday in a couple of days
Built new studio, recorded new songs in it, went for walks, planned a mountain trip that now got cancelled, had my eyes tested and picked glasses, saw my ex too much. Might work on a game in this last month of the summer...
Trying to stay alive. Gawd, you need some killer C++ skills to even survive in college. I coded a UDP and TCP server and client from scratch in C (not C++ and not including libraries), and only barely scraped a B grade. I've been actively studying for like 20 or so weeks straight now, just to catch up.
In only 10 more weeks, I have to write down a formal business plan for a high-tech business, write my own damn HWA with at least anti-aliasing, image compression, and such in C++, and have the plans set for a device that can sense you emotions from the sound of your voice. So, you'd have to forgive me if I haven't been active on TDC or with my games lately. FML.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Just had a week in Newquay, Cornwall and did a fair bit of moor walking/running and looking for castles/neolithic sites, very interesting! (no really, it is!! lol) Where's all this hot sun the global warming was mean't to bring though? Third summer on the trot where it's been wet in this country - time to burn some more tyres in the garden i think!
And LOL at W3r3w00f for the knitting thing, but in a nice and un-cruel way
I have been working on a little game got accepted into a school for graphic artists and now looking for an apartment like crazy snce the school is pwetty far away.
1. Spending all my money travelling around Europe and subsequently paying for it with days in looking at jobs (and other things) on the internets.
2. Surveying life with a the mind of a cynic.
3. Transport Tycoon.
This summer was supposed to be "Summer of Jeep" as I called it. Me and my brother were supposed to fix up our old Willys Army Jeep. But 2 things happened...
-Breaks went out
-My brother bought a broken down horse trailer that consumes the entire shop and our entire time
We had one good mud run. That turned out good of course.
I'm President of the highschool FFA, which I'll be leaving to leadership for tommorow. Being an FFA officer has also put me on probation from any sort of alcohol...
I've also got a truck I've "tricking out"
Overall, it's been a good summer. I hate the idea of being a junior this year I hate growing older...
This summer, I've done the following:
--moved into a new house
--worked on a lot of stuff/attended meetings for the day job
--lots of music/band stuff
--began regularly volunteering at a community garden
--began regularly volunteering at a bicycle collective
--cycled my first-ever century (100 miles in a day) for a 150-mile charity bike ride
--received a shipment of bulk grains in preparation of making my own breads to eat & sell through the Autumn & Winter
--began writing a book about bicycling in Baltimore
--finished one game project (for the remake compo...thanks again, W3R3W00F! ) and worked on a couple more
--reading more books
--occasional forays in Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (excellent!) or The Sims (curiously unfulfilling, actually...Time to uninstall that one)
A few other personal/private developments have come through recently, but the above gives you an idea of the general procession of events. Very busy, I must say.
