I just stopped by TIGsource and I found two interesting games...
MACHINARIUM
This one is just plain awesome looking. Its lovely graphics, well crafted feel and Steampunk/ Industrial style totally did me in. Gonna have to watch for this 'uns release.
INDIE BRAWL
Finally, the indie scene is getting their own Newgrounds rumble! They better add Quote, Satan Sam, Tim, and Xoda, or I'll be P.O'd.
So what does everybody think about those games? WOuld they be worth buying or playing?
I dunno, I'm sort of losing the indie groove. There's just something I don't like about the indie scene these days. I've never found most featured games these days to be that good.. they just seem pretty average compared to other games, just with better graphics. Maybe my expectations are just getting too high

I think the term indie is mis-used quite a bit, even though usually not on purpose. I guess what i mean is, indie to many people refers to game makers who use sites like this one, only make games in their spare time and generally see themselves as purely amateur game makers.
In reality, indie means "independant game makers" - game makers who do not have the financial support of game publishers. This includes the likes of us, making shareware and freeware, all the way up to the kinds of game makers who make serious money from games. People like Insomniac Games (Resistance series, Ratchert and Clank series) and Elixir Studios (Republic: the Revolution), who make games as a profession.
In short, i also dislike the term indie, however for the reason above only. I don't compare myself to the likes of Insomniac Games and Elixar Studios because we all don't have financial backing from a publisher. I'm not making games for the same reasons as they are.
