Looks fun, although the graphics are lazy. There's such a thing as a scuffy hand drawn style, but it still has to be kept to a certain quality/standard.
Now this looks FUN, in a MegaDrive/Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog's speed kinda way! And the graphics and sound effects fit perfectly for me, especially the character's jumping animation - cool!
I'm not sure i get what you mean though -Adam-, i get the impression myself the graphics have been drawn this way on purpose, not to be lazy. The graphical style looks as though it is supposed to look like it was drawn by an 6 year old child, and i think it works.

Totally missed my point, as usual. There's such a thing as a child-like style, but to a certain extent it should still look proffesional, neater to a certain degree, or uniform and continous, rather than inconsistant MS Paint scribbles. Pretty much like Yoshi's island or Pac Pix DS. Or even Konjak's click game Tripline, but that's probably before your time on TDC. Look it up perhaps.
If the aim is to look child-like, why would you need to make it still look prefessional, or even neater? The colours fit the mood of the game, especially the choice of shades - the brightness of it all fits the speed and the cartoony nature of the characters and scenery. It is uniform, in that the uniform style is MS Paint colour pallete. And Yoshi's Island does not look child-like at all, just cartoon-like; the shading and the background looks like it's been painted by a professional watercolour painter, for example. And Tripline doesn't look child-like either. I think your getting "hand-drawn" and "child-like" mixed up.
P.S. "Totally missed my point, as usual" - get over yourself -Adam-, you're no more an "expert" in games than i am
I have a double A level in Art, an A level in Product Design and a degree in Animation, along with some reasonable computer game graphic skills. But of course Mark, I only share the same knowledge as yourself and skillful Terminator 2 graphics and astroid shooting games. And don't try and turn it around to involve the knowledge of computer games, I was discussing the graphical style, not gameplay.
I, along with several others know exactly what I'm talking about, but I won't try and explain it anymore. Certain issues and valid points fail to penetrate your skull in situations like these. It's understandable, really. You're more of a game player than designer.
I was just starting to think the "indie scene" got over this kind of graphics. It looks plain boring and ugly to me and it's not hard to make or smart either.
It may very well be fun to play, who knows yet?
however those graphics just stink. It's annoying when I see games with terribly basic or just downright bad art getting praise. Sometimes bad art is just bad.
The game probably plays really nice, but I have to agree that the gfx arent top-notch. The thick, black outlines screws it over in my opinion. Also, the colors are to full, they should be bright AND light, now they're stark and feel "heavy". Or something like dat...
Well done on your accolades there adam, and yeah the Terminator "3" (not 2, i suggest you get that double A level in reading when you've got a spare 5 minutes) graphics you spoke about were skillful, i take back everything i said - you are an expert
