I have an object that rotates but I want it to have a gradient. Is there any way to do this? Perhaps the Overlay redux? I have no idea how to use it so an explanation would be nice.

Thanks

? your going to have to explain yourself better.

Do you want some type of color overlay that doesn't rotate with the object?

He wants a gradient shader, I believe. As in a texture on the object easier than drawing his own gradient. I don't use HWA so I wouldn't know how to use shaders, and I know nothing about how to use Overlay Redux.

Yes, that's it. The object moves, the gradient doesn't. That's what I want.

Off the top of my head I don't think this is possible. I've achieved a similar effect using an object as a shader, but it only adds colour to black objects. Until MMF gets masking capabilities I think you're stuck.

Yes, in order to do this you need to have black all around the object in order to hide the edges of the gradient.

You could of course try using the alpha channel object, I think it might be able to manipulate the alpha channel separately from the object.
