This isn't help with coding per se, but it's related to a klik product, so I figured I should post this here.
Anyway, I've almost forked together enough dough to comfortably buy my own copy of MMF2. While i've been perfectly content with MMF 1.5 for my current needs, MMF2's support for HWA has me jumping for joy. Lag will be a thing of the past once I get it!
But before I go ahead with the purchase, I have two questions I must ask, and i'm hoping somebody here can give me some more info.
1. What's the true difference between the standard version of MMF2 and the developer edition?
2. I remember getting a discount when I upgraded from MMF 1.2 to 1.5. Is there a similar discount for upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0, or is it the full sticker price, no exceptions?
It's worth it! MMF2Dev basically gives you all rights to distribute your application without any Clickteam or Fusion logo, and you can edit the application details if I remember right. It also has a few extra extensions and features that you can probably do without.
a guy awhile back lost his mmf2dev discs so he bought another set, then found his discs. he but them up for grabs and i snagged them for less than half the clickteam price (i got it for USD$125). best purchase ive ever made.
Really? Whoa, holy cow, I didn't know the Dev version was so much more expensive that the normal one. o_o We're talking over $300 here.
I'm curious to know how much of a discount I get, then. I filled out that upgrade form, so I just gotta wait back for a response.
In the meantime, I was looking at the information about MMF2 Dev, and it mentions something about being able to build Java applications. Does that work similar to Vitalize in the sense that games can be played directly on a web page? If so, that's pretty sweet, I gotta say.
If I get the normal version of MMF2, will I have the option of upgrading to the Dev version at a later date? If so, would it cost more than just buying the Dev version right off the bat, or would it cost about the same? If it's the latter, i'd definitely prefer getting the normal version first until I absolutely need one of the features of the dev version.

I not too sure about it though since I jumped right to the dev version
I asked Jeff about it once and the case is that the discount would make your total money spent for all copies the same as if you'd just bought the highest-priced product, while still keeping the licenses for the lower-priced ones. For example, I have MMF2 Standard and can get MMF2 Dev for $247 instead of $369 with my discount.
Okay, that works. I doubt i'll be needing to make java applications anytime soon, and I never sell my games, so I don't believe that the extra $200 for the Dev version is worth it in my situation. I'll settle with the standard version first and then upgrade later as needed.
Now i'm just waiting for Clickteam to get back to me about that discount form I sent. :3
Hmm... It's been over a week since I sent the e-mail and I still haven't gotten a response back about my discount. I'm positive I entered my e-mail address correctly in the form, and I've been checking my spam folder on a daily basis.
Has anyone else filled out the form in the past? Maybe I can try filling it out again, but with an alternate e-mail address...
