Wow.
I'm not normally one for noob-bashing, but absolutely everything about that logo sucks - the smiley face, the un-original cog, the stupid font, the crap image quality...
I noticed that someone else submitted an alternative - not great IMO, but a heck of a lot more professional looking:

That ones pretty good if a little bland. That OSX orb style is way too overused on both sides of the operating system ocean.
Don't really want to say it, but that blissfully-hi-on-some-illegal-drug smile is gonna scare people away. That other logo is just so much better in every aspect, but the area where it turns to blocks needs to have a glow of a different color to it. I'd say purple would look the best.
Soooo they gave up on their 10 years old or so logo that everyone would recognize and associate with GameMaker to put a dumb looking smiley inside a Construct like cog? That's failing at its finest.

Perhaps because it's been resized? If you bother to click on view image you'll perhaps see it's not so bad in terms of quality.
