Anyway, I moved to Seattle, WA for college, and currently have access to Macs only. Thing is, Macs don't seem to have any game-making software that doesn't suck. Back home, I was uninspired. Now I have all kinds of game ideas, and no tools with which to implement them.
Help me out, wiggas?
Fine Garbage since 2003.
CURRENT PROJECT:
-Paying off a massive amount of debt in college loans.
-Working in television.

You probably can. I think someone here actually does use wine. I know that I've had click games work with it, so MMF2 probably does. Certain features are limited, sure. I don't think wine properly emulates Windows networking protocols, so OINC probably is out.
youre wrong. i recently got mmf2 fully running under wine, and oinc works just fine. (that is the server starts up, binds to the intended port, etc. have not tried actually connecting to it with an app)
I might be wrong as I only played around with xcode for a few minutes and it was a long time ago, but as far as I remember it was nothing but a pretty standard IDE, so without an engine or something else to work with you can't do shit.
btw Unity is awesome, if you don't mind learning some scripting (it's fairly easy and quick to learn if you want my opinion).
it may very well have been oinc you couldnt get to work. you need to add any and all dll dependencies into wines system32 folder for things to work. oinc needs winsock2.dll and the visualc++ runtime libraries for it to work (i think those are the only ones). neither of which comes with the standard wine installation.
