Ok; I need coding help. My project "Frayed Air" is planned to be an addictive and detail survival experience with ongoing characters and roleplaying stories. While I have a majority of it planned; I need members to help "tidy" the coding; and to make the overall project easier to edit, as well as to finish earlier than expected. I hope to finish it be next year with the right team.
My original plan was to feature hundreds of INI files to save all the infomation through your character. These would contain your character's stats, your current look... your carried items (etc); but since some of these data get changed too often; I need an easier way to compile this infomation; so less stress comes alonglong when making the game... and to help fix bugs and balancing mistakes when it comes to testing. I need members who are good with saving infomation and to find easier ways of bypassing the trouble.
A.I commands
While the A.I is judged by random actions; I need assistance of choices of what they can do. Telling them to do one event is one thing; but having a whole list of different A.I commands is another job. I need members who can code certain actions the A.I can and cannot do into one big list; a more advanced A.I keeps the player challenged so they don't find one tactic and repeat it every single battle
Game Protection
While not the biggest problem; this game will be the flawless balance between luck and skill, and to compare your skill to others I want to prevent as much cheating or hacking as possible. I need members to help me prevent this.
Online Scoreboard
To go with the last request, your score will be submitted on a hosted website. I need members with the skill to create AND protect this system.
SECONDARY
Custom Base
One of the ideas was to create a base in which everytime you play; you will start off at. But the problem when doing this; is that everything about the base must be the same as you left it. From the # of objects, to where you moved them... to the remains of a battle. If all the events can be saved to your character; then I will add your own personal base into the game.
Multiplayer and Online Knowledge
As said earlier; A lot of infomation was saved to one character... more than most klik games should ever try. I had plans of bringing your character online and playing with up to 6 other players. Now to share all this infomation with 6 players and to make sure everything works will be a bitch. All I need working is a correct LAN and Ip connection; a server list is optional. I also need minor online protection to prevent cheaters; but only single player urgently needs the cheating protection.
Pathfinding Knowledge
Certain interior locations like houses and warehouses require a lot of detail and small rooms to be used. This would result in a lot of buggy A.I movements as they won't be able to locate your character. While I had plans of changing the level design to prevent this; if there is anyone with good pathfinding skills available... please contact me.

The core of the game and final graphics can be done by me and anyone else willing to contribute.
Sorry if this is vague; but I will explain in greater detail the trouble if anyone is interested in the following assistance
Well for the online scoreboard, you could use GameBuilder's ones where if you have an account there all you have to do is download a template .mfa and you have your own free scoreboard. I'm also pretty decent with online, unfortunately im already making my own Online Zombie Survival game called "Zombie Swarm". I'm also working on another online game called "Pictionary Online", so my hands are full Lacewing is really easy to learn. You could probably master it in a few days, seriously
That's nice to know, but I don't know if the site will last forever. I can't risk it.
Well... if there's anything you could show me/start with, do link/tell.
Frayed Air is more of a survival experiment than zombie game; I just love creating enemies and bosses.
Look for "Online Scores using PHP/mySQL". Jeff made this easy enough for most people to get the hang of. Finding a suitable hosted database is up to you, but that shouldn't be hard. I bought a domain with Godaddy.com that came with MySQL. It took a bit of work to get around the free hosting package's ads that mess with the score system, but it's fixable!
I could handle the data saving comfortably. Probably spent 70% of my time in MMF trying to find the best way to save tons of data

I don't want the situation of getting 1/3 through the project, only to find that an important feature can't be done by myself alone.
Also Muz you're not always on MSN, is there any other way I can contact you without your email?
Lol, it's like 12-3 AM here when you're on MSN, really not the time when I'm in the mood for a chat. I usually check my DC mail, and if you want to have a group project, it's always best to have a forum.
