I'm going to put TDC's character design to the test. I'm going to provide everyone with 2 templates and an example image, and anyone participating can draw two images of a character of their choosing, one that follows the template, the other put into a random pose/concept art. Post both images as a response to this thread. IF your character has differences in the arms and legs, give me two templates of the character, each with the different arm/leg designs.
There are no stipulations to the characters design, although they have to be humaniod, meaning anything that has a head, body, two arms and two legs. What ever they may be, I will find a place for them.
As far as the style is concerened, you can draw them in any style you wish, I will convert any winning character into the style of the game.
The Competition starts right NOW (August the 8th, 2010 at about 1:00PM) and will go for a week.

I'd just like to add, that if you feel your artistic ability isn't the greatest, please feel free to attempt this. I'm not rating this on graphical quality, I'm rating this on pure concept. Like I mentioned earlier, anything submitted that wins, I will convert to the style of the game.

I'm gonna make my character soon... But first one question... Can I put something else than stabdard guns ?
I'm gonna put a "gunblade" : a sword but also a gun . It can fire bullet on enemies and can also be a nice sword.

I think he should be made the biggest, baddest boss in the whole game (either that or a really common one, so you get to fight him a lot)

I was going to make an awesome video displaying these characters, but I'm kind of swampped with work right now. So I'll do the simple version of the contest results.
First off, we've got Duncan. He's provided me with a saxiphone playing bird and Jesus. The caveman isn't the most original idea, although I haven't played many games that involve cavemen (other than say, joe and mac or maybe tomba). And I've certainly never witnessed a giant saxiphone playing bird either. I have a specific area in the game where these characters can roam.
Next up we've got Dogzer, who also submitted Jesus, this time sporting a sausage. Most people might think this kind of character would be out of place in a game like intense, but these people DON KNO NOTHIN BOUT INTENSE. Normally a giant rabit would seem mundane and unordinary (giant rabits are common in america) but there's a freakin sausage.
Now we move on to sketchy, who submitted the skeleton with the sickle. The sickle idea is something else, usually when you catch a skeleton with a sickle, he has to have a robe and he's death or whatever. But this is just your ordinary run of the mill skeleton PLUS WEAPON. If you take out all the shading and the weapon, the idea isn't very new, but it is still a very well made character.
Now we've got Old Man Clayton who made is Avatar! Didn't see that one comming. If I decide to use this character, unlike the other characters, I won't touch the style. I can already imagine this character strutting around in the game, can you?
Finally we've got Shiru, who has provided me with a character that he previously created. It seems like your typical anime character with the spikey hair, but the clothing is a little too simplistic (usually the anime characters I see have robot boots and junk). The weapon itself was taken from a Final Fantasy character. Still, I know of a perfect place for this character.
So since there were only 6 submissions, and they were all very good submissions, I'm keeping them all. Thanks for participating everyone!
