That is a seriously generous give-away, as well as a good marketing tool for the upcoming third game. As far as my opinion of Fable II goes, i thought it was good but flawed in that it lacked enough "fun" when playing. Some of the finest voice-acting i've seen (heard?) though
wow i think thats really amazing and great of them to do. no matter if you are one of those haters who come to this forum just to be a big fat troll and point out that everything is shit and they hate everything or if you actually like fable.
i mean its a full game and its a GREAT game otherwise there wouldn't be fable II and now soon fable III. i personally love fable II and it is one of the reasons why I got a 360 (by saying this I expect to get bashed by users with a ps3 signature).
seriously don't look a gift horse in the mouth especially if companies like nintendo still charge you a lot of money for their old games- their VERY old games (who are still great but seriously might as well give them away for free).
(De-railing the thread a little) Now you mention it, i do really dislike how games like Mario Kart DS still retails at full £30 price-tags in most shops here in the UK, despite it being nearly 5 years old now!
I know, i know; supply and demand and all that, but still...
I tried it briefly a while ago, seemed like an abortion of a game though. Seemed like it had no challenge at all, you can't die? There's a thing always showing you where to go?...
I actually finished Fable 2 twice, I loved it! I dont understand why so many people dislike it here. Great story apart from the cop-out ending, and I tought it was great you could not die. The leveling up system was great also. Yea I had a great time playing it.
Also this was not a free deal it seems it was a mistake by microsoft:
"Microsoft put up the first episode for free as part of a marketing blitz for Fable III. Except they accidentally linked the full version instead of just the first chapter to the download. So those of us who have the 6.6GB download queued will get the full game.
If you start a fresh download of it as of now it comes up as an error, so anyone with it already downloading is getting the full version. They took the download down completely after all the Xbox Live calls and Tweets, so the deal is off unless you're already downloading it, in which case you will receive the full game for free."
A Microsoft representative sent along this response, which suggests that this whole ordeal was an unfortunate (yet, for some, beneficial) mistake:
"We have seen reports that an Xbox.com page listed Fable II as being free to download. While getting the entire game for 'free' would be (and was for a short time) an amazing deal, it is now available at the intended Xbox Platinum Hits price of $19.99 . A perfect way to warm up the skills for Fable III which launches on October 26!"

I never got into the Fable series myself. Heard good things about it though.

Ah, so about the same cost as 3 months of Xbox Live Gold? Not bad.
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
