I went to work on my Mario engine and it was gone...

The last time I worked on it was last night, it was getting pretty late so I saved and shut down my computer. Today I went to work on it and there was no file. I tried searching all folders and even manually looked through most of them for about an hour... Is there anything I missed? Is there any way to get it back? And is there anywhere TGF2 demo saves backups?

If you put a million monkeys at a million keyboards, one of them will eventually write a Java program.
The rest of them will write Perl programs.

Oh no!

You can check the directory where you saved your mfa file for a file with the extension 001, but I don't think it saves backups unless you tell it to.

Did you try selecting the latest entry in TGF2's file menu? It has a history of recently opened files.

Yeah... I tried everything I can think of. I'll just forget about it and start a new I guess... or maybe I'll just remake a better engine.

try running a file recovery program. install one on a pen drive then run it. you never know it might return something. The best one i have found is called ZAR (Zero Assumption Recovery). you do have to pay for it but the free version lets you recover 4 or 5 files at a time i think so you should be fine with that!

It worked! But the file is corrupted... ("the games factory 2 failed to open this document")
