Good evening.
I think everyone that still frequents this site knows that Adam has been silenced based on a personal dispute between himself and a TDC administrator.
Given the current perceived lull in activity at the TDC, the nature of the silencing being based on a personal dispute and the fact that Adam has over 8,300 posts to the TDC forums surely this action is somewhat pointless and absurd exercise in admin control with the potential implications of a loss of activity within the boards.
I presume some people may have had "run in's" with Adam, but this is part of life. I would also like to add if other peoples accounts or off site experiences have been used in this decision, I also class this as morally unacceptable.
I have posted this thread as I find it quite depressing that an active regular member (we could do with more of these!) seems to have been silenced for something I class as rather minor and quite frankly irrelevant to the operation of the TDC.

I don't understand why you're bringing this up again. You were very vocal on the subject in the previous thread. The silence is a temporary one and was long overdue. Looking at the warning list Adam has two warnings to his name. A third would have resulted in a complete ban. I also told you that the decision was made before any "off-site" influences took place.
Be grateful that he only got silenced. The other admins are sticking by my decision and they feel it's the right thing to do. You wouldn't believe the number of discussions we've had in the admin forums about him. Another individual in the thread received a warning too.
Please let the matter drop, rather than stirring the pot.

Surely the same rule applies to Brandon. Will he get a silence or a warning for the personal slight he has dished out to Adam, which to be quite frank is quite a low thing to do as he cannot reply!
I agree his slight on Circy is wrong, but
a) will the rule apply in this thread (as above) and b) surely a personal chat with him outside of Gwedry would have sufficed.

Do not even compare me to Adam. That's insulting to say the least. He went out of his way to find start an argument with people, even if it meant baiting them. Every admin and member I've spoken to has agree'd with me on this. So unless you're seeing a different version of the website then we are, I don't quite understand where you're coming from.
Unless, wait, you probably weren't in his cross hairs like the rest of us were. Fortunate people seem to be the most misunderstanding.

Adam broke the rules, adam got temporarily banned, life goes on.
Regardless of the fact that it was personal, it wouldn't be the first time I saw adam attacking circy out of thin air so I think the temporary ban was justified. I'd even go as far as to say that circy didn't ban him earlier because he knew someone would make a fuss and say he banned him for personal reasons.

Lmao, Circy is who Adam's bitching about? That is hilarious.
I've had my disputes with Circy in the past and that's not to say it couldn't happen in the future but I've always thought he was a fine admin to the site. Figures the one admin on the site who speaks his mind the most is the one Adam is having a vendetta with. Priceless. Absolutely priceless.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but isn't that a bit of an exaggeration? It almost makes light of great people who've been murdered while trying to make this world a better place, and doing a good job of it. I've learned over the past few years that there are a lot better things in life to be passionate about. Sorry for agreeing with the rest of the crowd, but get over it. I agree 100%, and the fact that he's been sitting on the site (active users) for a vast majority of the day, and not for very long on each page, is kind of sad to be completely honest. I mean, I sincerely hope he has a life outside of this tiny community. I could joke about it but honestly, if he doesn't, and this silencing is that big of a deal that we need to talk about it as though he was put in handcuffs and thrown in jail, I honestly feel bad for the guy. No one should be that isolated.

You know to be honest this topic is kind of backfiring since people who dislike adam in the past can have their way without Adam being able to respond. It is kind of twisted in a way, I do not want to see any member being put down like this, including sarcastic remarks by for example silverfire. That is just not cool, no matter who the person is you are dissing. You all are really now doing the same thing. Like OMC is saying try to get along.

The silencing system is there to diffuse situations and keep things calm. It's not necessarily a punishment - it'll run out after a few days and he'll be able to post again, and hopefully things won't be as hot-headed then.
I understand your concerns about an active member being silenced, but disrespecting admins and other users shouldn't have to be tolerated.

Speaking in a generic fashion of no relevance to this case or any specific case in particular, as it has already been established that this is not the case for this situation (as should have been apparent from the beginning), suppose such interactions, while off-site, pertain to this site? I don't even mean just general antagonism or whatever in chats or anything (as such belligerence would be unhampered by an on-site silence or ban). I mean, I'd imagine that there could be some case in which such interactions might be relevant.

I should never have started that thread about phizzy, it was bound to end up in something going wrong. TBH i havent used the forums too much since i started on tdc, which my first account was about 5-6 years ago. Mainly for "klik codeing help" or too help someone else out. Now... it was kind of disapointing to see everyone lashing out at each other in most likely the first thread i have ever made outside "klik codeing help", i honestly thought everyone was dandy and happy. Please guys just try to keep negative thoughts to yourself and look at what each has/and will bring to the community, without starting up controversial threads or posts digging at other users, im sure everybody would be happy if this was the case, and i don't want to see anyone getting banned or silenced, but if that's what the admins decide to do, then that's the best decision to keep this place at peak morale!
anyway just remember, this site is all about creativity and putting your amazing idea's up and having a part, lets just keep it at that and have fun. FUN I TELL YA
