Hey just wandered if there is anyone else from the USA midwest who like me has been trapped by the uncoming snow. They say it's a record setting. Anyway, we're expecting 20-26", which is I'm hoping is a little bit off... I'm in southwest Illinois and we about 16" now. Any other Midwestern American in the same predicament?

We've been hanging in suspense on it for a while now, but we've yet to see any. I live up in Eastern Pennsylvania though, Eastern USA. We're still supposed to get something. We got dumped on pretty nasty last year, around this time too. So yeah, anything's possible.

It all keeps melting exactly one day before a new batch comes.
This time around, we got plain old rain. It did a weird split around this area. I was kind of disappointed.

Personally, I wish this snow would melt... I beleive we are up to the 20 inches now... If the weather man is right for once, 6 more is to come... Oh geez...
I live out in the middle of nowhere, I have a 30 mile drive to town, so frankly... I can wait for this snow to melt because I'll at least be a little less bored at school... But it looks like the rest of the week is no school, if not next week as well We didn't have school today or yesterday, and we got 11 o'clock dismissal on monday.
I'VE GOT CABIN FEVER!!!

We've had snow sitting on the ground for over a week now, but rain yesterday and today is whittling away at it.
Down in Baltimore, MD, here.

Apparently some people on the west side don't have power. It's blustery today.
Hope we don't have a repeat of the inland hurricane. >_> 8 days without power, trees all over the roads, cold showers.

The snow here in December killed a lot of plants/trees off in our garden. Usually they survive it, but it was a couple of feet and literally took a month to melt completely. It also brought all my neighbours cast iron guttering down... luckily no one was coming out their front door at the time or we would have had some gruesome deaths

We only got a few inches here (Wichita, KS), but the wind created some drifts that were about knee deep. Also, the wind chills hovered around -20 for a couple days. The first time I went to take my puppy outside during those conditions he just kinda stopped in the doorway and gave me a look like, "you've got to be freakin' kidding me if you think I'm going to go out there."

I don't know about you guys, but over this winter, my house seems to have accumulated over 24 inches of snow... shoveling's a pain

We had the longest prolonged cold period since records began in the UK this December/January. Not that much snow, but it took like just over a month for it to go.
According to the TV it was global warming...
