All of my graphics that I every made and still have. Thought I made as well post them. Read the readme if you wanna use any of it in a game or something. I probably won't be able to do requests for a while, but if anyone REALLY wants me to make something, I'll find some time to do it eventually.

Just one thing that's in their, it's not all the same, in fact you may even have trouble believing it was all by the same person, but that just shows my evolution as a pixel artist:

Sorry if I'm speaking like I'm the best artist ever, I really don't think highly of my work and am definitely NOT trying to make it sound like I'm better than or even as good as anyone...

If you put a million monkeys at a million keyboards, one of them will eventually write a Java program.
The rest of them will write Perl programs.

i just realized that your name is 'monkey the rat', and I've been reading it as 'Monkey Threat' the whole time, which is a far cooler name. i think you should change it.

Well, it's atcually funny you point that out, as with my original YouTube name, monkeytherat, was a typo of monkeythreat, but I never realized it. I decided to just stay with that name ever since just for the lols, though I may change it to monkeythreat some time.

That and the point to your head and abbreviate your name jokes were probably getting old.

Your graphics are improving. You're a long way from being great, but you're certainly a lot better than suckish. Keep practicing and keep learning and in no time you'll be shelling them out.

Thanks I'm trying to work on them as much as I can in my free time, and trying to think of different ways I can style a certain graphic to fit whatever type of game I'm drawing for. I still need to work on my animation a lot, though. I can't even make a decent looking walk cycle...

Do you have anything in particular in mind that you think I could improve on?

What programs do you use for art? Typically, I see a lot of newer artists starting out with paint, or using MMF2's built in editor, which is actually more than adequate for pixel art, although if you don't know your art, you're asking for trouble. Photoshop, GIMP and Paint.Net are quite a bit of a step up in terms of tools and functionality, and make things considerably easier provided you know how to use them. Things like layers, magic wands, custom brushes and textures can really make things easier, but you've got to use them correctly as well. There are also some really awesome advanced features that are passed up quite a bit.

For instance, Photoshop has an automate feature which I seldom hear anyone talk about using. Basically you can do a few commands, it records it, and you can play those commands back at any time (or even set it to a hot key), which does wonders for tedious obnoxious work, like for instance, if you need to change the color type of an image to indexed, erase a certain color and crop it, and do this to 3000 images, why would you want to spend precious time doing that?

In terms of animation, some people are more comfortable animating frame by frame, which is perfectly fine, and in most cases you've got much more control over your animation. There are plenty of people who also animate frame by frame, and all they do is move specific parts around to illustrate movement. Certain programs like Photoshop and After Effects have an animation engine that allows you to manipulate layers by rotating, scaling and repositioning, and it automatically sets the in between frames between the chosen movements (which is promptly called "tweening"). The best part is that all of the animations you put into them are editable at any time, which is one of the issues many of the frame by frame animators are bound to run into eventually. Suppose you just realized that the colors on your character aren't going to work or look bad? What if you made his nose too big (assuming this character is a human male, or non human that contains nose), you're either going to have to redo all your animations, or edit each frame, obviously whichever is easier. You might actually be able to get away with fixing it up with the automate feature, assuming you know how to use it, but wouldn't it just be easier to not have to worry about all that?

I know some people have some issues with tweening in terms of look, either based on style or the animations themselves, but it's not a style or a look, it's a tool, and it can be used to make any kind of style or look you're going for, and it's much quicker, and much simpler if you know how to use it.

Thanks! I'm using gimp right now, and have after effects for video editing, so I could try that out for animating.

I always read it as "Monkey Therat" - thought maybe you were from Kazakstan or France or somewhere, and your name was Therat.
Even after I noticed it was probably "Monkey the Rat", I still hear it as "Monkey Therat" in my head.
Never even occurred to me that it might be a typo.

lol, I'm from the US. A lot of people actually read it as monkeythreat, which I find strange, and quite funny if you know the story.
