I've been trying to use the kernel object to make my application transparent and have the opacity turned to 200 but it isn't working. Other things are working like adding a border and drop shadow. Am I doing something wrong? It's pretty straight forward so I can't see why its not working.

You should try setting the opacity to a really low number instead of 200. The lower the opacity, the more transparent something is, so something that is completely "opaque" has no transparency. Hope this helped!

I actually tried 0 to start off but I'll try again. Nope no dice. I set it to 10 100 200 0 etc and nothing changed. I'm on Windows Vista 64 bit using Aero as my theme.

You have to select the window for this to work.

And I think you also have to turn on transparency as well.
Something to do with the way vista/7 handles transparent windows. (It turns off certain window effects)

I've done it before so it does work.
