Here you go:

http://sites.google.com/site/mmf2stuff/

Do a search on the page for "kcedit.mfx" and you'll be able to quickly find the Editbox extension download.

I apologise for making people download extra exnteions. I didn't realise the edit box wasn't just a part of MMF2.

Btw here is an updated version of my Engine

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?6qhh2y2mbg2gxac

Now damage is displayed when enemies or players are hit in battle.
You can speak to NPC's
You can pick up items that are added to your inventory and remembered so when you leave the frame and return the item chests are empty.
Slightly better comments lol.

I just frontpaged this to drag some more votes in. Probably should have done it 8 days ago, but I hadn't spotted the thread until now.

AndyUK's engine is crashing for me when I enter the battle screen. I'm using MMF2 Dev R251. And the characters from the party aren't walking fluently (?)...................................
/Sorry for my English ^^.

LOL Sorry...I have not unpacked whole archive ^^. But still "friends" from the party are walking 'laggy'.

Hi guys,

voting in less then a day is hard, here are some comments of mine:

S-M-R's Turn-based Movement Engine
I thought it was going to be a turn based engine like civilization. But it's just step-a-tile-at-a-time.
Anyway, I found a bug in the first trash cleaning level, I can push the trash through the wall near the exit.
Sorry I had civilization in mind.

Andy UK's RPG Engine
This engine seems to require the string parser and text blitter extension. The clickteam authors should probably create build in extensions for these. Because I am building extension less, so I haven't tried this engine.
Perhaps include a working binary?
Edit: after download the updated version it now only requires the text blitter extension.

Don Luciano's Infinite Loading / GTA Engine
I could play with the binary which seems to be a testing game and an editor at the same time. Not sure if this is a good thing.
However the source requires the following extensions: easy grid object, string parser, advanced direction object and advanced race car object.

Hopefully I haven't hurt someone with my comments. Based on these comments my votes goes to: S-M-R's Turn-based Movement Engine.

Heheh...Just voted for mine to maintain.

Thanks for all the votes, folks! I'm honestly very surprised, but I'm happy with the work I put into the engine to make it work as well as it did.

I know that it has some issues, and I've been picking away at them while making my own game with the engine. I've fixed the exit-door issues, for example, which I think was a priority. If anyone's looking for a fix, then let me know and I will pass along the needed information to you.

I think I will step up to host the next stage of the contest, and keep it at the forefront of the forum posts as best I can. I'm totally looking forward to all the different types of games people can make with this engine. I will be posting solutions to typical problems, level-building/designing suggestions and tips, and offer all-around support for the engine throughout the duration of the contest. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming next stage of the contest.

Thanks once again for all the support and votes, folks.

Just a thought, but you might want to let people use some of the other engines (platformers, etc) that were suggested in the original thread:
http://www.create-games.com/forum_post.asp?id=288800

I just didn't include them because they weren't created specifically for the contest, and if they had been included, everybody would probably have got only 1-2 votes each...

Anyway, it's your contest, your rules.

Seems like the voting/poll needs a fix, an option to be closed (that's probably something for tdc 2.0). Or the thread should have been closed afterwards so the poll would probably be closed too and discussions can be brought up in a new topic, since voting is over anyway. But hey that's something we've learned for the next time

It sounds like fun to try and create different games from S-M-R's engine, someone could probably do a 1-player version of dungeontv:
http://create-games.com/download.asp?id=6092
http://create-games.com/download.asp?id=6610
http://create-games.com/download.asp?id=8363

Or some kind of Greenpeace game in which you're sailing around the world and need to wipe out all plastic ducks of the ocean

The next stage of the contest uses all the above game engines, so entrants have more of a choice of what they want to do.

It seemed like folks didn't want to be restricted to just one game engine, and as there were only five total entries, opening up all of them as options didn't seem like a bad solution. And there are two ranks of entry: one for these three engines, and another for the two previously-completed ones.

Have a look here:

No one with tgf 2 ng edition can open this. Is it possible to do a version without that crap?
