So out comes my laptop, it's good enough for some MMF2ing so i install it and start messing about and saving my work fine. The next day comes and i try to open up an MFA file but MMF2 just finishes loading it and stays blank. I uninstall and reinstall MMF2 and get it all working again. But one day later the same problem occurs! even creating a new project, saving it and trying to load it fails.
What the heck? Is this a well known problem with MMF2?
I had updated to the newest build and newest HWA build and installed Bonus packs 1 and 2. Everything worked until the next day (the next reboot basically).
I wouldn't say that. Windows 7 is still relatively new, and Vista was such a disaster it may as well have never happened - meaning an awful lot of people still use XP (and schools especially will use older OSs).
Anyway MMF2 is not at all demanding on hardware - I don't know what the official minimum specs are, but I used to run it on a 300MHz Thinkpad without issue (apart from it being slow obviously).
Never heard of anyone else experiencing this problem either. Maybe try an older build?
You should probably ask on the clickteam forums.

I'm running Win 7 64bit. Is there any reason you're using XP? It's a ten year old OS. Clickteam shouldn't have to support it.
Pretty much every Uni I know of in the UK is still installing XP (as they have site licenses) even on brand new i7 based machines. As Sketchy said, pretty much everyone with any sense avoided vista, and 7 is comparatively new - especially for insitution wide adoption.
Sorry to hear that Andy , I am running MMF on 7 Pro 64 bit on my laptop and on my quad core desktop (q9400, running XP - this is my work horse PC...). Both work fine. I really think you need to ask on CT forums (as already advised) as I am confident you have done the usual things to try and get it working.
is it a fresh install of windows xp? or did you dig out the laptop and just started using what was on it?
if its not a fresh install, do that.
if it IS a fresh install, do it again. and before you install any software, make sure you completely install any windows updates, including system patch 3.
if all that fails, please send me your laptop for further inspection

Please only post if you think you can help him, instead of posting ridiculous comments without basis.
Don't ruin the fun and friendly spirit of the forum by calling users ridiculous when they just want to help.
I, of cours,e know nothing about andy uk's version of mmf. However I did know that some pirated versions tend to crash often. I drew a logical conclusion based on intelligence and deep understanding of software and hardware related issues.
Fordom's such a poor troll. Why does the click community never get good windup merchants, instead attracting second rate formulaic dorks and podgy drama queens? Still, makes it easy to brush them off, I guess.
