It is solid, in that it always creates playable maps, with the rooms all connected to one another.
There are still a few things to improve though - in particular, I don't like the zig-zag corridors or double-walls (not visible in the screenshot). And then I need to fill it up with "stuff"...

I'm not working on anything else at the moment - although I may convert this to use higher-resolution, full color graphics (it would be a shame not to, considering the code would all be the same, and that's the difficult / time-consuming part).

Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you and everyone else come up with.

OK well, after that mild confusion I guess TDC wont suddenly vanish at the end of the month. We need to post some updates on our games.

I'll post something here a bit later on today.

This isn't a competition just an idea that might be fun because I remember the original being extremely popular all over the community!

Which thread were you referring to as the one with all of the oldie members? I might be interested in reading that.

I actually did a tiny game for the old Total Klik competition. It was just a silly little volleyball-type game called Slime Ball (or possibly Slimeball, I'm not sure). Wish I still had a copy of it. It ended up being the only game I ever released.

Ok, let me fix that for you.

People, GameBoy did not look like an emulator or playing on the SNES with the Super Gameboy. It was a muddy green mess... and we loved it!

Actually, that's nothing like how a real Gameboy looks. The original Gameboy had poor contrast, but the screen was far more greenish (the colors in yours are very under-saturated). Later versions had colors more similar to your picture, but the contrast was much, much better.

Plus, if you're making it to played on a computer, you're not going to recreate the feel of playing on an actual Gameboy anyway - you may as well make it feel like you're playing through an emulator. In fact, my plan was actually to try and copy VisualBoy Advance, with the logo and name in the titlebar, and the same menu.

It's much more yellowish than that, I believe (or at least, when actually looking at my GB).

Personally, I'm just going to be using greyscales.

I chose four shades of green Phred. Don't be so pedantic.

Actually if i still owned an original gameboy I would have used it to get more accuracy lol.

Some palettes are grey when played on an emulator, some are yellow, and some are green hen on a real gameboy, just as an example let's have these:

So it all depends,

What kind of game is it going to be, a Diablo-like hack and slash? Looks cool!

On an emulator or Super GameBoy you can have pretty much any palette you'd like.

On the real thing it would depend on which gameboy model you have, whether batteries are fresh and what lighting you got.
