I'd guess screens 1, 2 & 4 are inside and 3 is on he castle walls. Since what you're seeing is simply the debug area I haven't given it much thought really.
The 'real' areas will be made externally in a level editor I'm putting together.
I'm mainly using it as a graphics test at the moment. It's quite a chore to make combo animations for the several different types of weapons, special attacks for each, the five billion ways that damn cape can blow and putting it all together in a neat fashion in the engine.
It'll probably be a while before I'm finished with this sprite, but I'm positive the end-result will be quite nice.
As for making a billion weapon animations please don't forget you can use the color replacer events to save yourself a lot of time if you have some similar-looking weapons or armor or whatever. (Replace the grays of a short sword with some greens and boom you have a dragon sword, etc.)
And I too think your guy has a mace and not a flail. A flail is a ball and chain but a mace is a solid heavy head mounted on a stick. Or at least that's what I always thought the difference was.

I've been doing some character animation inbetween heavy uni stuff, just thought I'd share another screen for those of you who like it.
Because more, is more.
I don't know if you notice, due to the BIG PIECE OF METAL in front of it, but I've redone the hair from scratch to better fit the spiky style seen in full profile. Plus I've tweaked the colours a bit, trying to put some more contrast in there.
By the end of the month I'm planning to have the project page up.
Keep the name. Simple and easy to remember. As a completed game I'd definitely think of this as "Heroica" before I thought of some yellow brick-men.
If you feel really bad you could always add a "second" title under it.
IMO the color scheme for the tiles in the most recent screenshot really seems to clash. I just don't think those 2 colors for the bricks go well together.
Thanks for the input on the name! I haven't decided entirely yet, we'll see what I end up naming the project page.
The two types of tiles seen in the screenie weren't intended to be paired, I just needed a quick colour break from all the blue foreground tiles. (If you'll notice, the background tiles are the same as in earlier screens, that's why they don't match that good colourwise, purple-ish would be great, or red!)
I'm really looking forward to seeing more! To be honest, I was expecting a Lego themed game, but thats only because the kids are all about Lego Heroica right now. I say keep the name, as long as the graphics and logo are not Lego-style, its fine. Heroica is used lots of places other than Legoland.
