It's very nice to see the website is still here, I stopped visiting ages ago as I was making animations rather than games. I actually want to start making games again now, so I might start on some small arcade style ones next month. But yes, this is what I have been doing for the last few years:
... Amongst other things, obviously. I started this in October and finished it off yesterday. DO YOU LIKE? Constructive feedback welcomed.
Loved every second of it! The music getting louder when she opened the door to the kitchen, the camera shaking as the train went past, the reflections in the gameboy screen when she was running.. so many little details. Really nice work! What software did you use?
Nice choice of music, too Does FantomenK know about your music video?
Thanks! I used Motion 5 (on the Mac, gasp!) for the video. It's only motion graphics software, but can handle enough video/animation stuff for me to make something like this in it quite easily. I'd recommend Adobe After Effects for PC users wanting to do something similar to this.
I messaged FantomenK a while ago, asking for permission and he said it was cool - He also said he might be interested in working on a project together, so I've emailed him a link to my animation and I'll see if he's still game!
.... that... was... AWESOME! I LOVED IT. Love that sexy combination of 2D pixel art and the 3D models. Can you imagine someone made a game like this??!
I agree with everyone. This is amazing!
Why aren't you selling music videos produced like this? I'm sure there are a lot of bands out there who would love to pay you for this style of 2D/3D animation.
ChrisD> Employer: Say, wanna see a magic trick?
ChrisD> Employee: Uhh… sure, boss.
ChrisD> Employer: Your job! It just disappeared! Pack your things and leave! Pretty good trick, huh?
This could be a great candidate for the Stone Goose project. I really hope it get's finished one day. We need more blocky 8bit worlds! (no not minecraft either)
