I'm very confused at the moment as I just thought of doing a quick search for one of my games online and found multiple links going to different sites where people are downloading it, is this common practice of more of the online game sites to add games to their sites without permission??
I do remember adding at the start that people are free to distribute to friends and family but requested to be asked before uploading to any other sites.
If I was you guys I'd do a quick search to see where your games have ended up. I'm a bit disgusted really. a little notice would have been nice to say the least.
For example, here is one link:

And here is another:

This kind of thing happens from time to time; even my horrible games have made it in Poland or points east of Warsaw.
If you're really that upset about it, send the webmaster of the site a message that you want them to take down the game. That's pretty much the most you can do.
Myself, I figure I released the game free of charge, and the more players who actually pay attention to the games, the better. I would definitely pursue any situations where someone is charging money for my games, though. In my book, that's terrible manners and must be squashed.

I always wonder 1) why people are surprised about this, and 2) why it's taken so negatively.
If it's a free game, this is the best thing that can happen to a game developer. And it happens with every decent game over time. It's free marketing, and saves you a significant amount of time so that YOU don't have to submit your game to these portals by yourself. Of course you as a developer like your game to be played as large audience as possible, don't you? That's at least my goal. No reason to make games if no one plays them.

The thing I don't like is the fact of nothing being said, would have been nice.
I agree with both of you, I would like the games to be played by more people but what happens if you discover bugs in the original code and these sites carry that said code. I can't imagine it being so easy to recover any rep for that game. The game in question I made isn't all that great and which I have improved it but it just bugs me that people just troll webpages for games like that.
I seen "Idiot test 2012" on the same site too has been recently submitted here to.
I was going to ask for it to be removed but I decided to back down as it's now really worth the hassle to be honest.
