Sometimes i like to mount the head at the chest. I think it gives the character these football player like shoulders when you do it. I've tried some different things on the feet too. In this version i went for quite big and bony. Hoping the oddness of the feet will make him more alien, and less animal. That's also why i gave him doubled ears. Other wise i think he's looks to much like a bull.
I'm still trying to think of a good special attack for him. Any idea's?
Great idea. I like the overall design of the sprite a LOT, but the shading could use improvement.
There are areas on the sprite where the highlights make sense, like on the alien's horns, face, and legs. Well, they'd make sense if they weren't blue. However, other areas where I would expect to see highlights, they're completely missing. Also, when you sprite, you should start with one imagined light source and shade with that one light source in mind. If you want to add another, wait until the first phase of shading is complete.
I can't really tell where you imagined your light source to be because different parts of your sprite seem to suggest multiple light sources in all sorts of different directions. Lastly, that grey and darker blueish-grey color should probably be reversed. Usually, it's the darker color on the outside edges of a sprite and a lighter color on the inside. You kinda got that backward.
Oh, special attack? So, since he kind of looks like a football player, it might be cool to have him bum-rush the player by charging from one side of the screen to the other. Chucking boulders might be another good idea; he's bulky enough that if the enemy jumps at all, landing could release a shockwave that freezes the player in place for a brief moment.
Again, awesome idea. Try not to take my constructive critisism to heart if your intention wasn't redesigning the thing to reflect accurate shading techniques. They aren't that important.

ChrisD> Employer: Your job! It just disappeared! Pack your things and leave! Pretty good trick, huh?
yeah, my shading is crap. I can't remember what i had in mind for lighting the image is a bit old. I just shared it to try and get more things happening on here.
But looking at it now. i think i was going for a back lit effect.
