I've been spending a lot more time with designing tabletop games these days, and very recently I had a chance to facilitate some workshops on game design. This weekend is Tennessee Game Days, and this year I'm leading a Game Design Workshop as well as a couple demo sessions and a Prototype Showcase.
If you're interested in learning more about the experience, have a look here:

This isn't completely related, but have you seen this game yet:

It's an interesting idea.
Also perhaps you should bring your table top games to the iPad or something? I know that might defeat the purpose though.

Yeah, I think it does kind of defeat the purpose. Obviously computerized board games allow you to do all kinds of stuff that would require the players to roll about a zillion d500 dice or something otherwise - but one of the main attractions of boardgames is the tactile playing pieces - especially with miniatures based games (eg. "HeroQuest" is an awesome boardgame, but the videogame not so much).
What we really want is physical playing pieces with capacitative bases, that can be combined with tablet computers (functioning as the game board, dice, AI opponent, etc). I expect someone's probably done it by now, although last time I checked, it wasn't really possible yet because tablets couldn't track enough touches.
