Hey, I've got lots of questions, so heres another one! If I am using 32 Direction movement, can I jump? or would that require some kind of 2.5D engine? I am specifically thinking of the old beat em up games, where you can move in all directions and jump, too. Is this possible?
Well if u use 32D u need to fake jumping. It is all a question of perspective.
32D is often used for games like Zelda 2D, old GTA games or games with top down perspective in general. If u wanna add a jumpfeeling
u would need to make an own jumpanimation where ur character is moving up but his shadow stays on the ground so u get the feeling of hight. Also the collision must be detected by the shadow and not the character it self.
