Those are nice ideas
I think I've seen the last one done on another forum, a long time ago - people were doing mockups of modern 3D games, as they would appear if they'd been made for the original gameboy, or some other primitive console.

I personally think it would be nice to have a game-making challenge of some kind, that isn't just about the pixel-art (I posted my suggestion in the competitions section).
