Every1 remembers Dos the text based operating system. Now'er days we have graphical operating systems like Windows and Linux. It didn't take very long for graphical OS to come out. So now i am asking what about langagues?
I did a bit of VB, and some other script-based langagues. And now we have click products, which are graphical programming langagues. Dos is thought to be old and crappy right now. Do you think that script programming langauges could become redundant? And Visual/Graphical langaues such as MMF and TGF will be the number 1 market buy? I think so, i think just like dos, C++ and VB will die.
These days the kids all think DOS stands for Denial Of Service. Oh the days when all it meant was Disk Operating System
Languages like VB will get phased out over time, but I dont think C will. Simply because C let's you get right into the guts of a system unlike any other language (excluding things like Assembly, etc, but you'd have to be psycho to code something huge in that). So C is required on many levels in order to do things (be it code applications, drivers, or even operating systems).
KNP, if you remember, was phased out pretty quickly. I think it was only about 2 years before TGF was released (CNC before that even). But I think the new CT software will stand the test of time a lot better since it's concentrating on functionality rather than the ease-of-use factor that was really done to the extreme in KNP. Either way, I dont think CT will be going anywhere soon, so as long as they keep updating their products then it's sure to last.

I doubt Visual Basic will ever become extinct, unless Microsoft dies out. And even if it does, there are plenty of other BASIC-like languages (QB, BB, PB etc) along with C/C++,Pascal,Delphi and others

assembly may have died out but it is still used for... well stuff. so even if c is still used it can be considered redundant. Click will reign supreme!! (then be bought by M$ ) the real question is... wha will the fifth level programming be? must be computer reads your mind of what you want, then programs it for you... now that i cant wait for.
