(originally posted June 2nd, but it got deleted)
Who here thinks that Clickteam should make a click-based 3D game maker? As easy to use as The Games Factory, but lets you make your games in 3D.

I have been designing some screenshots for this software. These "screenshots" shows just one possibility of what the interface could be like. I will make a link to the pictures in a reply once I finish them.

Well, anyways, if you have any thoughts on this just post a reply.

sorry if i am not allowed to say that.

I was making something like this a long time ago, it was called "Enigma". It got to the stage where you could create objects and move them around through the level editor and at runtime with the event editor... I dont know why I stopped making it, I guess I just got bored... which I do easily

Jamagic's mostly code based though, we lazy people need a 3D Game Maker with events and shit.

It probably would have an import thing so meshes can be imported. I'm hoping that's what MMF-3D will have anyway, so I can import my 3D Studio MAX meshes. Maybe there'll be a simple modeller.

Yeah, MMF3D sounds sweet, who knows what it will be like though, it could be great, of it could flop, I personally think that it will probubly do good, considering the rest of their products. I just hope its as easy to use as MMF or TGF.

If you go to CT's website (www.clickteam.com) they have a banner at the top that says "Creative 3D/2D tools" so it's obvious they have got one.

Anyuk, Jamagic is not that. Jamagic is typing and what the title says is "Click-based" (no typing in code). Oh and all that stuff about MMF 3D... I am at clickteam's site right now (in another window) and it doesn't say anything about a MMF 3D. Where is it? I don't think MMF 3D exist. I would be glad if you proved me wrong by sending me a link. (Then I could dump this project of designing interfaces and such)

Jamagic uses the Java language so if u r a lazy game maker like me then its no good. I was on a Java course a few weeks ago but i quit cos it wuz so damn hard. You'd have to be really skilled to use Jamagic....

I studied computer grpahics in college, not computer programming, I'm more into the graphics side of things. I learned K&P cos I was interested in game design, but without the programming, and I learned the subsequent versions TGF and MMF. So it's not being lazy, I bet most programmers aren't too good at graphics either.

On an unrelated subject, next week I'll be releasing the first level demo of The Lemon Scented Adventures Of Sod, the most surreal blood fest you'll ever see.

I think a 3-d Game Maker that doesnt involve having to leanr a Computer Language would be great!! i dont know much about MMF3D though, ive only really read the click convention report and that was about it.

There's one called "The 3d game maker" (real original) but i've heard that it's not very good, that's why one of my click friends is sending it to me.

http://t3dgm.darkbasic.com/

Check it out, it's made by the dark basic team, but it's a point and click engine.

You can insert 3d models, I think, I dont know, I really don't use Multimedia Fusion, only to do touchups.

You can - with 3D Sprite or Mode7, but it's extremely slow and you're better off using Jamagic.

The 3D Sprite object in MMF isnt for making 3D games, it's more so you can insert 3D logos and things.

For example, if your selling an MP3 player, you might like to insert a 3D model that a user can rotate it and have a look at the player from all angles.

The Mode7 object is quite good, there was a 3D game sent in a while back that was made with it, and that ran quite fast. It's faux 3D in that you dont use 3D objects, but rather place 2D sprites in a 3D world to give the impression of 3D (kind of like Duke Nukem 3D and other games didnt use real 3D). Still gives quite a good effect.

About MMF 3D:

From what I saw of it at last years convention, it looks set to be extremely promising. Of course, what was shown was in the extremely early stages, but what was demonstrated: A custom camera engine! A system where, you lay down the base terrain, then you add increments, and then your player can be controlled on it. That's what was mentioned, and there was a demo of it. My only worry is that it'll end up being like the 3D Gamemaker and be very limited in its capabilities.

Thats nice and simple (To an extent), Fairly powerful (If you have time), And it came with a nice pack of graphics, fx and objects.

Only problem is that the engine is kinda poor.

Real 3D = Full 3D. You know, like Warcraft 3 or GTA 3 or C&C: Generals. DN3D mainly used well.. illusionary 3D coz the comps back then didn't have the power to really process all the polys.
