Well, hmm, theres all sorts of 3D graphic tools, like 3D Studio Max, but its best to just practice and get good at spriting. Of course you could always just have someone make your sprites but thats the lazy way.

Dont use 3DSM, use Maya: www.aliaswavefront.com

for 2D I like to use a combination of Photoshop, Photo-Paint and the Jamagic Picture Editor (yes, I like the J3D picture editor the best out of all of CT's products )

TGF editor is great but if you wanted a Sam and max game or Fishhead 2 intro, use MS paint to do that.

ShadowCaster, there's nothing wrong with 3D Studio MAX if you can use it. Which incidently, I can. Strangely enough, I used MSPaint to make my graphics for Samuryan, as I can cut and paste on it, which for some stupid reason I can't on MMF.

AT: I can use 3DSM... in fact, I can use about 5 different high-end packages, plus a lot more of the low-end ones that are floating around. The fact is I've tried a lot of packages, and Maya is the best in every respect.

I use The Games Factory picture editor most of the time, but when i use MMF's picture editor i notice my sprites end up looking a whole lot better, mainly becaiuse of the default tones. anyway i use TGF, & MMF picture editor. i never use MSPaint. Adobe Photoshop 7.0 is Amazing, you can make stunning effects and cool looking text.

I stick to what I know, I can't be arsed to learn anything else, although I have heard Maya is good, but there's nothing wrong with 3D Studio Max. Well not much. And how could I forget the wonder that is Adobe Photoshop 7? Photoshop rules.
