i need a MPEG movie to work on my game on TGF, so i choose the MPEG object(its a small movie so it will not take up much room on game).
But it fins the movie in its directory e.g: c:/gfactory/game/movie.mpeg
but i want it like: ./game/movie.mpeg
i tried this and i did not work like the DMC2 object.
how could i get this working by storing moving on game or the shortcut directory like i said above (./game/movie.mpeg)

Lol, what's the point in writing "What Jonwog said"? I should spam the forums with that one.
Jonwog's example will only work if the game isn't in the folder "game".
appdrive$ + appdir$ + "\game\movie.mpeg"
Alrighty, let me explain by lengthing this.
Appdrive$ = the app's current drive
Appdir$ = the app's current directory
So if the game was installed in: C:\Mygames\fruitbox\game.exe
And the movie in C:\Mygames\fruitbox\movie\movie1.mpeg
and you typed: appdrive$ + appdir$
That would return: C:\Mygames\fruitbox\
so if you add + "movie\movie1.mpeg" that will run the movie in that folder.

O god dammit. !SPIDER HEAD! Don't post when nobody answers, posting three times in a row won't change the fact that people aren't on 24/7. Back to your question:
Event? Whenever you need it. If you have the whole frame taken up by the object, and you want it to play at the start of the frame. Then "start of frame". The event isn't really relevant, it's your call.

Soz for pissin ang moaning. People look at posts even when they are at the bottom. Im here often and when i post at everything i can, i check that the bottom posts have had thier questions answered. Sometimes i find mid-posts with no views and no answers.

u have told me how to do the movie which is good but i need an event how to do this. or is there a way how to store the movie on the game like a midi file example

what i meant was when u place a MPEg object down u have "file to play". but when i browse it has the problem i said at first e.g c:/gfactory/game/movie.mpeg
i have added the appdrive$ and appdir$. that didn't work because that only works in the event not the finding.
