Ok heres the premise. This Thursday I turn 20. Its the coming of age +2, and I will have somehow lived for two decades. And I want birthday presents! As any self respecting klikker might know, I'm a huge fan of platform games. Which is where you come in.
You have THREE DAYS....until Wednesday, to come up with a platform game. It MUST have at least 5 levels and be under 1MB. A custom platform engine is necessary, but it doesnt have to be original. The competition will finish sometime Wednesday evening, and I will spend that time downloading any platform games that there are. Any entrants who meet the requirements will automatically get a couple of DC points for even bothering to take part.
The best platform game will get a further 10 DC points...probably sometime on Friday. If you're game, reply to this post, and note down your DC member number. Wednesday is the deadline, and you must prove it was made between today (Sunday) and Wednesday. No rehashes of older games. Good luck! And dont forget to supply a download URL.
Advice to keep the game small:
Use 256 Colours in a low resolution
Use as few detectors as possible
Dont bother with sound effects, but some midi would be good
Keep the graphics simplistic, Im looking for gameplay here!

I can guarentee you it took exactly a week to make Zone Runner. The first 6 hours were spent making an engine and the graphics, and the rest of the week took the level design. You forget it was for a competition with a guy called Steve Wardale, and he made a Pinball Racers game in that time. Zone Runner was originally going to be like Wonderboy, but then I changed the idea of it. Its definately possible, thats why Im only asking for 5 levels
GODAMN IT I don't have grey hair, its just the light. Either that, or my crappy webcam. Besides, once my suntan dies down Im gonna shave all my hair off.
CIRCY... that avatar is freaky. And didn't Zone Runner have only about 25 levels because you decided not to finish the last few levels (with your comp against Steve Wardale?)
I believe the word is sh*t eating grin, but does the movement have to be completely custom, or can we just modify the standard movement so those wierd glitches don't happen.
I'm using detector objects, and almost all the problems with the normal have been solved. You can't get stuck on edges, etc. etc. Hell, I just won't tell anyone that it's a modified standard engine.

I've finished the first level of my platformer (plus heavily modified custom movement) in 3 hours. I'll beat you all yet! Bwahahahahah! (goes to get padding on his walls)
I've got best idea for my game, I came up with it on a fishing trip a while ago after a fair few cold ones!
You basically play some kind of wierd creature that is cursed for some reason by an Evil Fish and thus you mutate into a wierd looking creature with a huge mouth and belly, and no matter how much you eat your hunger cannot be prevented.
Then you are told about the legend of the Holy Hamburger, which will relieve your hunger forever. Basically you must get it so you can stop starving!
That's about it...gots some nice graphics...I love 256 colours

Cilla the beaver's forste is been destrotyed by Foxtra the Fox ( ) with big cutting machines. cilla must defeat Foxtra but has trouble on the ay with his Rival "Vain" (Dark beaver). There are 5 stages (2 levels + boss)
Cilla will has custom movement with a choice of 4 weapons.
But this game will only be made if it is 3 months not 3 days

if my game Cilla the Beaver became a potential to become a big platformer that would be gr8 but the levels in it are big with the special effects. i cannot do it in 3 days/2 days!
