We were the generation that grew up with the games like Alex Kid in Miracle World and Wonder Boy and good old Sonic, Sonic 2 & Sonic Chaos. If anybody has made any cool platform games like these (or knows of any on this site), please post them here.
Other cool games include:
Asterix in Rome
Cool Spot
Alex Kid in High Tech World
Wonder Boy in Monster Land
Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap
Bomber Raid

I seriously reckon the Zone Runner series would be perfectly suited to the master system. Not that Im bragging or anything.

good old master systems.
I replayed Sonic, sonic 2 and alex the kid on the emulator.
Did u know on Sonic 2 if:
*you got all gems: go to final boss and save tails
*you didn't get all gems: you dont go to final boss, and tails is gone

Yes, but getting all the gems on Sonic 2 is the easiest thing ever. I could become Super Sonic by the end of Chemical Plant...

Sorry - misread - I was thinking of Sonic 2 on Mega Drive. Sonic 2 on Game Boy (and Master System, but I never had one) was the hardest thing ever! Well, sort of. I managed to get all the gems once, then I kept messing up. *uses the wiggly joystick cheat to play the Hidden (or was it Crystal?) Palace levels*

Sonic Chaos was probably the easies sonic I've ever played. A few months ago I got to Dr. Robotnick in less than an hour, and I didn't play that game since two years before that.

That was Sonic 3D... no, Sonic Chaos was the game where you could be Sonic or Tails, but it was really easy. And you could do an upright dash.

How could you all forget Land of Illusion?! That game was fantastic...
Anyway, Alex Kidd in Miracle World has always been a favourite of mine. Of its sequels, Shinobi World is fairly good but the others dire.
Similarly, Sonic 2 and Chaos were awful compared to the original, in my opinion.
Anyway, I love the Master System. And I still have 2 of them.

Am I the only one who thinks Sonic 2 was...cack! The Green Hills Zone boss was virtually impossible (well, the boss wasn't too hard, but getting to him was a nightmare...it sucked)
I personally loved Sonic 1, Golden Axe, Castle of Illusion, Sonic Chaos, Tazmania and Bram Stokers Dracula. Oh and Wonderboy in Monster Land. I remember really wanting Land of Illusion, but it sold out everywhere...

Since when was there a Sonic for Master System, it was Genesis or Mega Drive (European Name) as far as I can remeber. The Master System was Sega's 8-Bit System.

Sonic never came out until Super Nintendo was announced, then after collectivly dropping one in their pants, Sega made Sonic, although the genesis had been around for a while by then.

the nes and master system games were still released until about 1995 when the snes and megadrive died out. (sonic blast that i mentioned earlier was released in 1995)
look at the psone, with dancing stage games and squaresoft re-releasing old games its still not quite dead yet.

most of the "new" PS1 games are just imports of ones that never made it out here, plus the PS2 Is backwards compatable, so it makes sence to make PS1 games for cheaper. Nobody today would think about releasing an N64 or Dreamcast game today. Basically, unless it's backwards compatable when a new system comes out, the support dies almost instantly

I know they made Mortal Kombat(s) for the Master system. They even made Mortal Kombat 3 for it (with a lot less characters and finishins), it was a rare find (only released in Brazil).
