Hey well what do you know, someone who is thopposite of the usual person here! Instead of looking for a graphics artist I'm looking for a group, but a few things.
I'm looking for a group that actually gets things done, I work on my own stuff but would love others ideas etc. I also dont mind doing the graphics for anyone else on the team. Now I'm not looking for just any team, I would like a certain level of quality if possible, aslo a team that wants to get the job done.
Also some smaller stuff like a working website to post news and things on if possible. Anyway if you would like to staff me then you can get me on MSN blackmagicgaming@hotmail.com or leave a message here.
Some of my latest work -

Well, I could use a graphics artist for my game and put it out of it's "text-based" status. See my latest preview (Combatant) or that post I wrote just now asking for motivation. All I need is a bunch of characters fighting, though it has to be timed right enough that the blocks, swings, close attacks, ripostes, shield punches, knockdowns, etc look right.

But first, tell me, how good are you with animation? My game would need a LOT of animation, though you wouldn't really have to make too many new models.

I can't really offer ya the working website thing just yet. I mean I've got a website that hasn't been worked on in ages (see http://members.tripod.com/freebor ), it's got some potential but I won't have the time to work on it till the end of the year. Don't bother too much understanding the content, it hasn't been updated for over a year.

Oh, and my team did have quite a solid reputation in the past. I don't know how it got so damn famous with all that crap, but it got up to about number 8 in one Top Freeware Sites listing and more people recognize Freebor Games (AKA Devious Method Entertainment) than I'd like to believe. About those psychotic murderers linking to the site, well, that's true as well (at the time at least). Part of the reason I abandoned the team was coz everyone in it was too busy with their own stuff and I wasn't all too happy with some of the 'fans'. Comparing the violence & hatred in the DC to the old days is like comparing a rubber duck to a goose, whatever that means.

Animation isn't a problem, some of my sprites go upto around 50 frames for just walking, maybe more depending on the size and a few other factos. Heres one I did along time ago (you will be able to tell by its outlined style that its old, it is only 6 frames and was only for a small game making competition (forgot which one) so not that much effort was put into it.

Hmm... I'm still not too sure you can handle it, no offense meant. I mean, I need guys/gals wearing different armor, using a combination of over a dozen weapon, with a different picture when he/she uses it in the other hand, along with a normal attack, wild swing, block, weapon disarm (in disarming and being disarmed), dodge animations, falling down, outside swings, charges, guard & ready stance, and a few other moves I'm not sure I want to put in just yet. I suppose it's possible to make it all different active objects if you know how to manipulate the hot spots and um... that other thing right.

If you're up to it, sure, you're in, but I don't wanna make the transition outta text-based gaming and go back in case you quit...

Thats about a year old. I'll find a new one or make a new one and post it soon, the reason he doesnt move up and down because you dont notice it in the game. Anyway I'll get started on this animation.
And Muz I can definatly handle it, its in the same vein as my game December (As seen in my sig). But you don't sound very interested, no offense but I'm not looking for any favours, I'm offering my abilities to a team who wants them.

Naw, it's not at all because I ain't interested. I just don't really have the time to manage a team again till the end of the year. And besides, I've had all too many bums working for me who leave without a trace then pop up on the forums a few months later without even bothering to answer my mails.

When a single really good artist draws half the art for the game, or even 80% of it for that matter and runs off without a trace, it's left with no one to draw the same art style anymore and the coder has to go through hell and remake he entire game or at least find someone who can continue drawing the same style. So, since this was planned to be my masterpiece, I don't really wanna have any flaws anywhere.

Tell ya what, if you really wanna be in, here's something I need done:
I need a little sprite where the player can click on the different body parts to put the equipment on different parts of the body. It should be at maximum 350 by 150 pixels, though it's not really a problem if it's smaller, just as long as the player can easily click on it. If you wanna make it realistic, I'll need two different male and female figures, both wearing a tunic and some pants. If you don't feel like doing two, a simple wooden puppet or any kind of figure that would look right for a medieval setting would do just fine. The figure should have the following clickable sections:
- Head
- Left arm (not including hand)
- Right arm (not including hand)
- Left hand
- Right hand
- Torso
- Left leg
- Right leg

When the player clicks on a location, it flashes or just animates or whatever as long as you can noticed that it's clicked. And if you can, make it so that you can later fit weapons and armor on the figure.

If you can do that and what'll come next, I'll get to work fixing up my site and going back into team kliking.

You could join Scorpion Entertainment if you want (http://www.scorpion-e.tk). We only have 3 members so far, and 2 downloads, but we have only been around since December and most of that time it was just 2 people. Before you say we don't get things done, it's mostly because we are at school. We do what we can, and we would love some help. A preview of my game "Toolkit Bill" is on here somewhere (search for it).

You will also be able to post stuff on the site like tutorials, music and anything else created.

Give me a bell if you're interested.
