Hi!

Ive recently got MMF, and I decided to revamp one of my online games that I play with my friends.

When I load the .gam file up in MMF it all works perfectly, and I have MOO2 installed for games factory and for MMF.

But when I save it (as a single .exe file) and try it online or accross a LAN, the programs dont seem to communicate with each other
I dont understand it

Is there something special you have to do to MOO2 in MMF to get it work properly?

Do you have an MOS running? Moo doesn't work without it, so you'll need to run it on one of the computers.

Make sure you sign on. A connected but not signed-on user is useless outside of TGF/MMF.

No the signing on works

Im really puzzled because if I load up the games factory vesrion of it and the new MMF version of it: the games factory version can see the MMF and see what its doing, but the MMF one doesnt see what the TGF one is doing.

So that means that it must be sending data, but not receiving it, for some reason

So any ideas anybody?
Surely MOO2 works properly in MMF
Is there not something obvious that I have missed

Hm, well Moo2 should work correctly, did you alter anything in the MMF version of the game? Quite often people send data to the server instead of the channel - also, are you using Blast Text? You may have problems if using that and running two apps on the same computer.

I really cant understand this

I havent changed anything and it worked fine as a TGF game, its just when I load it up in MMF the online bits dont seem to do anything

Im not blasting the text or anything, just sending text and object co-ordinates through subchannels

There must be some reason, is there something special you have to do with MMF MOO2 to get it to run properly

Something maybe like an extra event telling it to process messages or something (I dont think there are any)

So please help somebody!

Moo2 is old and buggy, get better stuff

Moo2 is incredible when u figure it out, one problem that you should avoid doing is 'always' sending information, ie only sendmation if a condition has changed, for example if value c of active object1 is different (<> to dir(activeobject1) then set value c of active object1 to current dir(active object1) (or speed etc) - then send the values thru mos, it this isnt helpful for u , i hope it helps someone lol. i cant help u with mmf though,as i dont use it .
